Villa Matohanca

Eine sehr freundliche, eigentümergeführte Unterkunft mit toller Lage zur Altstadt und zum Strand. Besonders gefallen hat uns auch das ausgezeichnete Frühstück. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Nagyon kedves, barátságos vendéglátók. Nagyszerű elhelyezkedés. Tökéletes tisztaság és kényelem. KIváló ár - érték arány.

Die Lage, der Service, der Parkplatz

We spent five nights in Villa Matohanca and it is ideally located for the local beaches at Molini (expensive sunbeds, busy) and Lone Bay (bit more reasonable) and both can be accessed along the promenade or through Punta Corrente Park. Also heading through the park you can reach rockier beaches on the opposite side of the headland where there are some lovely snorkelling spots. Beach shoes recommended for rockier areas. Towards Rovinj, the walk into the shopping area takes around 12-15minutes, then another 5-10mins for good restaurants or to the church (be mindful of slippery paths). We really enjoyed 'Santa Croce' and 'Torkolo' food most of all. We tended to eat earlier so book in advance if it's after 7pm. Boat trips leave from a number of different marinas; some are closer than others. The Delfin outdoor saltwater swimming pool near the marina was a great find for the more serious swimmer (check opening times) and the Grand Park Katarina's cafe and Hotel Terrace are great spots for coffee, cake, ice cream and fresh fruit.

It was incredibly hot (other parts of Europe were experiencing it too) so we had to be mindful of not dehydrating. No free water is provided in restaurants; it has to be bought, which can soon mount up. The expensive meal at 'Puntalina' was spoiled by the excess heat and sun streaming through the awning and onto the terrace. We ate one breakfast at the Villa but decided to buy fresh croissants, yoghurt and fruit from the local Konzum supermarket 5mins walk from the Villa to eat on our balcony.... or just buy them at Grand Park Hotel Terrace - both options are good value.
