Casa do Poço Funchal

Hele aardige gastheer en gastvrouw, kregen mooie wandel tips. En ze waren aan het bbq-en en kregen lekker visje en wijntje erbij! Fijne plek om aan het zwembad te liggen na een dagje wandelen. ‘s morgens op het dakterras je ontbijtje eten ( supermarkt vlakbij) Fijn verblijf dus!

Everything was really good. The apartment was lovely. The pool and balcony area was great with nice views overlooking Funchal. There is also a rooftop terrace with seating which is a nice addition. There are a couple of restaurants near the hotel which are both nice. Easy to get a bus down into Funchal if you don’t have car. Luiz the host was fantastic.

Parking can be a bit tricky. There are spaces outside the hotel but it can get busy. It was generally OK though.

Nous avons apprécié les espaces extérieurs piscine et les deux terrasses. Ainsi que la proximité du logement.

Le bruit nous a dérangeais ( chiens qui aboient ). L'humidité de l'appartement était gênant également mais le climat y fait beaucoup l'île est très humide. Attention à la luminosité du logement car il y a une grande fenêtre qui n'a pas de volet.

Rustic and comfortable beds with a lovely rooftop terrace which is a great place to have breakfast (or any meal) with a view over the city. The owner is knowledgeable about the local area, and there are quick bus links to the city (it's not a walkable distance for going to town but busses are quite regular) .

The pool was not clean while we were there - the water was brownish green. The only reason we booked this place was so we could use the pool and enjoy the view in peace after running a marathon there, but couldn't actually use the pool so that was disappointing. We could have booked somewhere cheaper with a sea view without a pool closer to the city centre. Also it wasn't totally clear on the description but the pool area is communal - there are a few other apartments using the same area. The apartment we stayed in had no view from inside either so be careful what you book.
