Le Relais de La Myrpe

This is one of those special places in an ideal location. The property is situated on the most delightful quiet square in the old town and 1 minute from the river. It is the prettiest square in Bergerac with medieval buildings and trees. About 50 metres away is a small car park that is free Saturday afternoons and Sundays. The host is charming and really helpful. He provides a bottle of wine and a voucher to get some bread an pastries at the local boulangerie around the corner. The place we rented was a small studio - don't expect luxury - it is perfectly adequate but there is only so much you can do with a very old building with limited scope for renovation - but that is spart of its charm. The host has another property next door/above which is a larger two bedroom property.

I loved the place. It was a medieval house on the most beautiful square in Bergerac. Very central, very convenient, with a boulangerie just round the corner. My host was very friendly and helpful and even gave me a lift back to the station when it was time for me to leave. Bergerac is gorgeous, and the accommodation was perfect. I want to visit again.

From being picked up and dropped off at the airport for our return by Chris who is a friendly,easy going helpful man everything was perfect. Accommodation which is quaint and quirky is in the heart of the historic centre and opens out to a nice quiet square with seating. Plenty restaurants,bars and shops in the vicinity. Nice walks by the river. We received chits to collect baguettes and pastries each morning from the pattesserie nearby. We appreciated all the refrigerated items and tea and coffee etc. that Chris also provided. He is a Superhost !

Nothing to dislike.

The host was a charming chap and we liked him a lot. The bed linens, towels, tea towels were all clean and fresh and smelled lovely. The breakfast vouchers were great and we made good use of them, collecting bread and pastries from the little bakery. The groceries, butter, milk etc left in the little fridge were a nice touch. We picked the accommodation because it was located right in the heart of the old town which we wanted to explore.

The kitchen area was only just acceptable and I kept bumping my head on the shelf which held the microwave over the top of the sink. The shower cubicle was very old fashioned, the floor sloped, the seat was taped up so could not be used. The interior lights and radio fitments did not work but the water was hot. There was dust all over the apartment, on the tops of the cupboards, shelves etc. The toilet facility was awful, dirty pipes, the toilet didn't flush properly, the door handle was loose, dust all over the strange unit that the hot water tank was just sat upon and there were spiders. This was a game changer and we left early and stayed with some relatives in another town, instead of spending the whole week in Bergerac
