About this house rental
Located in South West France, this beautiful area has it's own micro climate and is the second sunniest place in France. Set in the small hamlet of Villeret, the house is surrounded by fields of sunflowers and vineyards. A small swimming lake with a sandy beach, children’s playground and lifeguard is located 5 minutes drive (or a 15 minute pleasant cycle through woods) away.The house is a converted barn with many original features. There are 2 double bedrooms and a large children’s bedroom with bunk beds and the option for an additional bed.
Downstairs is a large open plan living area with fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine. The double doors in the kitchen lead out to a covered bbq patio area. There is also an enclosed garden with a shady tree.
Further afield in the nearby town of Ruffec there is a lovely river beach where you can enjoy swimming, canoeing and ice cream eating! Forty minutes away in Angouleme is the fantastic Nautilus water park with a range of waterslides, Olympic size pool and lazy rivers.
Futuroscope theme park near Poitiers offers high-tech fun for all the family with many 3D and 4D simulator experiences and evening shows. Nearby, the city of Poitiers is a historic town with a beautiful cathedral, fabulous restaurants and shops.
Villeret is around 90 minutes from the coast and an easy day trip to the seaside towns of Royan or La Rochelle.
Tours, Poitiers, Limoges and La Rochelle airports are approximately 90 minutes away. The port of St Malo is approximately 4.5 hours and Calais is a 6.5 hour drive.

We had a lovely 2 week stay in the house. The location is remote, surrounded by lovely small villages, sunflowers and vines. The house was perfect for us with plenty of space and a lovely tree outside to shade from the VERY hot weather! Jane was very responsive to our queries and provided lots of helpful information. The kids loved the nearby lake, river and nautilus and gliss up. Thanks for everything!

Good property, lots of room in house but not so much outdoor but enough to sit out and dine or sit under a tree and relax. Quiet location, more farm traffic than cars. Good location to see the area.

C'est une maison située dans un hameau ( pas plus de 50 habitants) entourée de champs de tournesols et de mais. C"est que nous recherchions !! La maison est une ancienne grange aménagée - le rapport qualité /prix est correcte - les chambres à l'étage sont agréables - Attention, les pièces sont peu insonorisées - Il y a un plan d'eau à moins de 15 minutes , ma fille était ravie Nous avons fait de nombreuses activités sur le fleuve, la charente : canoë et du padle à Ruffec , bateau sans permis à Jarnac. Et pleins de choses à voir et faire en se déplaçant à moins de 100 km ( Angoulème, Cognac, la vallées des singe, Oradour sur Glane..les villages remarquables ..) Nous étions satisfait de notre séjour !!!
