About this cottage rental

Here at La Metairie we take pride in the quality if our holiday homes, prefect for a romantic getaway or a family holiday. In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, each cottage offers well quipped kitchens, tastefully furnished oak beamed living areas with wood burning stoves, T.V. and DVD players, comfortable bedrooms some en-suite. All cottages have their own patios or garden area with garden furniture and BBQ. La Metairie is prefect for young families having large garden areas and secure designated play areas situated away from driveways and carparking for their entertainment modern swings and slides, a tree house, a 'school' house with blackboard and play kitchen. Play hut with pool table, table football and table tennis. And most importantly our securely fenced key accessed heated swimming pool has a well equipped sun terrace to relax with a book or sunbath.

Pluvigner our local town, is just a short drive away with traditional shops, restaurants, banks and supermarkets. A delightful short drive through quiet countryside takes you to superb white sandy beaches of Carnac, or to Vannes a medieval walled city and the enchanting market town of Auray with itís port side cafes. For the energetic there is nearby an 'adventure forest'; horse riding, golf, cycling, and forest walks. If you want to take in the local nightlife babysitting is available - tariffs available on request. However you dream of spending your day, be at an energetic sport or leisurely pastime, choose La Metairie and Cottages, you can be sure of a warm welcome.

We had a great week! The kids loved playing in the pool, on the trampoline (with Declan) and rest of the huge playground. The cottage was very well equipped and charmingly styled, French with a touch of Britain ;-). We will definitely return another time for great week! We would surely recommand this accomodation, especially with children!

We had a fantastic holiday at Vine Cottage, the Gite is well laid out and has everything you need for a great stay. Grounds and pool were excellent, could not have wished for anything better. Joanne and Aidrien are great hosts, lots of information available on where to visit and places to eat. Carnac, Trinite sur Mer, and the chateaux at Josslyn were some of the places we visited and really enjoyed. We all loved every minute of our stay. Hopefully we will return soon. Thanks for a great holiday and we would certainly recommend the property to family and friends.

We spent 1 week in the Vine Cottage. We had a really good time. We were 5 (3 children), the cottage is well equiped (all equipment for the baby) with a large living room, kitchen & rooms. Clean, nicely decorated we enjoyed to stay in the cottage. Outside you can do your barbecue and relax ! There is big garden with lots of activities for children. They played every day. It's tottaly secured. The Cottage is also well located 30-35km to the first beaches, you can also enjoy the swimming pool. We had a warm welcome from the owners. We met 3 different nationalies during our stay (Belgium, Germany, England) + us French,...so nice. We will do it again.

On our arrival we received a warm welcome from Joanne and Adrian. Vine cottage is a charming stone property equipped to the highest standards and impeccably clean. The setting is tranquil and unspoilt with open countryside all around, yet the nearest town is less than 10 minutes away. Sitting on our private patio drinking a glass of chilled wine I realized there was more to this unique place than just a group of cottages and a swimming pool. As a patron here I was not just buying a holiday in a gite, but like everyone else I was buying an experience, and as a result I would thoroughly recommend these charming gites.

This was the third time we had returned to these properties which say it all really. We are a large group of 16 and had previously struggled to find anywhere which allowed us our own space yet be together, La Metairie was perfect for this. The cottage was spotlessly clean, the children love the garden with playhouses, trampoline, heaps of games etc and the pool. Joanne and Adrian are really welcoming and as always nothing is to much trouble. I can highly recommend this lovely property.

Travelled with friends and their children, 8 adults & 11 children/teenagers. There is a clean, warm pool which provided hours of entertainment, a large & small trampoline & a large lawn for football & tennis. Vine cottage has a large lounge & log burner big enough to keep ~15 people warm & cosy on cool evenings. Close to lots of Brittany's attractions, Auray market fab, & children loved go-karting near Carnac.

My wife and five children stayed in Vine for one week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Joanne and Adrian are sensible hosts who respect their guests with no silly stuff. This is important to us as given we holiday with a lot of children we have enough going on without ANY unnecessary fuss. Main points: 1. Accommodation was very clean and authentic 2. Joanne & Adrian, very helpful without being invasive 3. Swimming pool was well equipped and properly warm. We used it everyday. ( warmer in water (28 degrees) than outside so don't be nervous jumping in!) 4. The grounds are huge. The photos don't do it justice. 5. It's a pretty location on site 6. Broadband that works well and included in price. 7. Excellent outdoor facilities for children, including toys for pool. 8. Location was close to Pluvigner which had a range of supermarkets. 9. Cycling for adults is pleasant for adults in the area but wouldn't bother with bikes for pre-teens. 10. Fellow guests were not noisy and kids played well together in a very safe environment.(pool well fenced off, so free roaming was possible). Suggestions: 1. Gas oven in Vine was dreadfully slow to heat up which was a little bit of a pain. Perhaps replace. 2. Supply an FM radio to offer exposure to French music etc. I used the broadband for streaming for this purpose but a simple radio would be preferable. 3. Tune the satellite to receive at least some French TV (was all English). Other points: The weather when we were there was similar to Ireland only a bit warmer. This meant there was no sitting out in the evening with a glass of wine or socialising really with other guests. This May or may not have been different had it been much warmer in the evening. Pity because it was only on the last night that I was there that I noticed how the place was lit up with fairy lights at night time which was lovely. Generally speaking I'd advise bringing long sleeve tops and pants if you feel the cold. (That being said I wore shorts the whole time). I'd have no hesitation in recommending this property for those who like Brittany and want a high quality accommodation in pleasant surroundings at a fair price. Might see you again!

Very safe and relaxing environment for families with young children. Where weary adults can let their children safely play amongst great play equipment. This was just as helpful as we're the many places to visit throughout the area. The Riordan family offered good advice on local attractions are were very welcoming to their guests.

We had a great week in Vine cottage. It is just perfect for preschool age children, with a lovely enclosed garden and lots of things to play on or in. The Wendy house and trampolines were a particular hit with my two. The swimming pool is a good size, very clean and properly enclosed so children can't wander in. The three bedrooms in the cottage were of a good size and the kitchen had basic equipment required for cooking. The only minor downside for us was that it is a 30-40 min drive to the beach. Having said that, we would definitely recommend it and hope to go back next year.

We had a very pleasant, nice and sunny stay in Britanny. Owners are very friendly and helpful for any questions. The cottage presented itself as stated in the fewo description. The area is very nice and calm, shopping only a few minutes away. Need to know about 30-40 min to reach the beach, several options. Overall, we very much enjoyed our vacation week.

Les plus = l'environnement calme, la piscine et les espaces de jeux. Les équipements dans le gite sont nombreux et les propriétaires (for sympathiques) ont envie que les gens se sentent bien. De plus, la localisation (assez reculée dans les terres) laisse quand même la possibilité de trouver une plage à moins de 30min.

Was ergibt eine Gruppe von vier Freunden und das Ferienhaus von Joanne und Adrian in Camors? Einen wunderschönen Urlaub. Die Zimmer im Haus sind zwar eher für eine Familie ausgerichtet (das 2. Bad hat z.B. den Zugang beim "Elternschlafzimmer"), aber auch unter Freunden lässt es sich gut arrangieren. Es ist eine sehr ruhige Gegend, morgens hört man die Vögel zwitschern. Von 10 Uhr bis 20 Uhr steht der Pool zur Verfügung, der sowohl kindersicher abgetrennt ist und abends zu- und morgens wieder aufgemacht wird. Und auch "große" Kinder finden auf dem Spielplatz daneben etwas zu erleben (Trampolin, Kicker, Tischtennis)... Wenn man einmal keine Lust auf Pool und Spielen hat, sind viele Ausflugsziele im Umkreis von 20 bis 40 Minuten Fahrt gut zu erreichen. Auch der nahe Wald lädt zum Wandern und Spazieren ein. Der nächste Ort mit Supermarkt und Creperien ist ca. 5 km entfernt. Und bei allem stehen einem die Gastgeber Joanne und Adrian mit Rat zur Verfügung – egal ob es um das Haus, Ausflugstipps oder Navikoordinaten geht. Die beiden leben gleich nebenan. Und sie sind sehr, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er ist Ire, sie Britin, daher ist die Kommunikation auch bei weniger Französischkenntnissen sehr einfach. Wer wert auf einen ruhigen Urlaub mit Pool und möglichen Ausflügen in der schönen Bretagne legt, ist hier genau richtig.

Joanne et Adrian ont été des hôtes charmants et attentionnés, nous accueillant dans leur gîte parfaitement entretenu, avec une cuisine très bien équipée, et de nombreux jeux pour les enfants (très appréciés). Le seul petit bémol vient du fait que, comme notre séjour a eu lieu tôt dans la saison (lors des vacances de Pâques), nous n'avons pas pu profiter de la piscine, qui n'est mise en route qu'en juin. Nous avons, par contre, pu rayonner et visiter à la fois la zone côtière du Morbihan (30-40 minutes de route), et l'intérieur des terres. Merci encore pour votre hospitalité J. Dussauge
