Exceptional

This is one of the best Stays I had during my vacation. Decided to go here by fluke but it turned out to be a very beautiful property- perfect for a quite gateaway. The room was spacious and clean. The windows are so well designed that you can look out to the mountains and the changing sky colors forever. The owner and his wife were very considerate to serve us breakfast before their usual time. I would have loved if the restaurant was open on Tuesday for dinner - but that’s a minor thing - good thing is I got to know about this in advance and could arrange for alternate arrangements.

A very beautiful and friendly location, although busy with the farm the owners couldn’t have been more helpful.

The location whilst being a bit off the beaten track is absolutely stunning, the circuitous drive up from Domodossola became insignificant on reaching the property. The views are amazing and the restored buildings beautiful, still appearing to be built using a dry stone walling technique.

The adjacent restaurant (not run by the La Tensa guesthouse) was a little pricey for what we ate.. We only had two courses and a bottle of wine and it was still the most expensive meal of our 10 days in Italy. Due to the location it’s sort of inevitable that you’d eat there but there may be better value in the town.

Our stay in agriturismo La Tensa was wonderful ! The room was exactly as we wanted it to be : quiet, comfortable and well equiped. When we arrived, everything was ready, we had been given all the info necessary before our arrival so the organisation of the stay was really simple. We ate at the restaurant of the agriturismo and it was really good and hearty. Same for the breakfast ! I recommend this agriturismo 100% because it is quiet and comfortable.

Exactly what we were looking for. A charming country place in the Alps with a restaurant.

We approached La Tensa through a charming little village and then down a winding lane , past bee hives and lots of wildflowers to La Tensa.The old stone buildings are completely renovated and include a very good restaurant. We were so happy to have an apertivo and wine after traveling from North Carolina. Chiara did a great job both with making the breakfast delicious and beautiful. Our server at the restaurant was fun and interesting my husband loved the beef cheeks and I had the same pasta two nights in a row.

Beautiful location, and setting

This hotel is a beautifully restored village that has been converted into a charming B&B. The views are incredible and there are many hiking trails through the mountains to nearby villages.

Mosquito screens in the windows and a fan would have made the stay more comfortable. But overall, this was a wonderful place to stay.

Relaxing and friendly stay in a unique rural setting

The apartments are nicely renovated and offer a superb view over the valley of Domodossola. The whole agriturismo offers a unique charm and allows for a relaxing stay. We especially appreciated the beautiful trails around the facility. The restaurant is also recommendable.

The kitchen was not very well equipped (no bowls, not enough cuttlery). The mattress was way too soft. If there would be a pool and/or possibility for bbq it would definitely be worth 10 points.

Weekend relax nel silenzio

Gli alloggi sono in un contesto molto particolare, un intero borgo montano ristrutturato interamente e trasformato in albergo diffuso. Sembra di essere in un villaggio fiabesco nel bosco. Ideale per chi vuole passare dei giorni lontano dal caos della città, nel silenzio, nel verde. Molto comodo il ristorante che consente di cenare senza dover tornare in città. Ottima la cucina e la colazione. Ci piacerebbe tornare in estate, per poter godere anche degli spazi all'aperto.

A mio avviso la procedura di check-in potrebbe essere migliorata, magari organizzando un self check-in. Comunque è sufficiente chiamare una volta arrivati per ricevere le indicazioni per trovare il proprio alloggio e accomodarsi. La strada per arrivare è un po' impervia, tuttavia basta andare piano e avere un po' di pazienza, ne vale la pena.

Sehr schön mit Hindernissen

Die Unterkunft ist ein kleines historische Bergdorf über Domodossola gelegen. Die Lage ist sehr schön zwischen den Bergen aber da oberhalb des besiedelten Tals ist es kein abgeschiedener Ort. Jedes der alten Dorfhäuser ist ein Ferienhaus, jedes mit einer Terrasse oder kleinem Garten. Man muss sein Gepäck über die Dorfgasse transportieren, die aus Kopfsteinpflaster besteht. Abends gibt es kein Licht. Unser Haus war sehr schön, sehr sauber, gut eingerichtet mit sehr bequemen Betten und in der Küche haben wir alles notwendige vorgefunden. Einen Kamin gibt es auch. Das WLAN war auch gut. Die Anreise ist nur über die letzten 50 Meter etwas haarig, der Rest ist überhaupt kein Problem. Aber auch das kurze Stück ist gut zu schaffen, außer das Auto ist tiefergelegt. Ist es sehr lang, könnte es auch etwas schwierig sein, aber sicher auch machbar. Nach den Vorrezensionen hatten wir es uns viel schwieriger vorgestellt. Uns hat es insgesamt in dem Dorf sehr gut gefallen und wir haben die Zeit dort genossen. Von dort ist man schnell über den Simplon in der Schweiz für die Weiterreise. Im Dorf gibt es ein sehr gutes Restaurant in dem man auch frühstücken kann.

Viele haben es schon geschrieben, aber es ändert sich nichts. Die Verwalterin ist restlos überfordert. Sie reagiert nicht auf Nachrichten. Wir wussten nicht, wie es mit dem Schlüssel klappt, da sie nicht antwortete. Zum Glück wusste ich aus anderen Rezensionen, dass die Schlüssel stecken und man sich, kommt man etwas später an, im Stockdunkeln sein Haus suchen muss. Zum Glück stand der Hausname in der Bestätigung und die Schlüssel tragen schlecht lesbar die Namen. Das war etwas mühsam, da ich alle Häuser abgeklappert habe und das auf schmalen, unbeleuchteten , alten Treppen. Dann schleppt man im stockdunkeln sein Gepäck über das holprige Kopfsteinpflaster. Das Auschecken war dann Dank der Dame auch ein Problem, zum Glück fand sich im Restaurant eine sehr nette Mitarbeiterin, die zwar nur italienisch sprach, mir aber weiterhalf und auch nur den Kopf schüttelte. Die kannte das Problem wohl auch. Und wir hatten mitbekommen, dass auch andere Gäste ziemliche Schwierigkeiten wegen der Verwalterin hatten. Das Restaurant ist toll, aber dort werden auch Hochzeiten gefeiert und dann ist Lärm bis tief in die Nacht und Parkplätze gibt es auch nicht mehr. Zum Glück war unser Haus am weitesten weg und die Fenster zur anderen Seite, sodass es bei geschlossenem Fenster ging.

Località remota molto tranquilla immersa nella natura

Si tratta di un gruppo di case di sasso ristrutturate con un buon ristorante. Dall'alto si ha la vista della valle ed è possibile partire direttamente dalla Tensa per camminare nei boschi (sentieri segnati).

La località immersa nei boschi è piuttosto remota e raggiungibile da un'unica strada a tratti sterrata e a corsie alterne. Non è un giudizio negativo, solo una constatazione. Chi non vuole affrontare un percorso impegnativo e/o non ama le località isolate non gradirebbe, al contrario chi ama la natura e allontanarsi dal caos cittadino apprezzerà.

Un po’ caruccio considerando che non c’e’ la colazione inclusa e che e’ sperduto in mezzo ai monti. Peccato per i turisti stranieri che facevano un gran baccano, bambini che suonavano i campanelli degli appartamenti.

bon rapport qualité prix

L'accueil a été plutôt austère et inexistant pour rester correcte. Nous nous sommes demandé où nous étions tombé ! Nous avons compris par la suite qu'il venait d'y avoir un mariage de 200 personnes la veille et que le personnel était épuisé après quelques heures de sommeil. Ils se sont rattrapés lors du repas du soir où nous avons très bien mangé.
