First time in Faenza, a most enjoyable experience

Great place for exploring Faenza.

Great location close to the central square. Lovely entrance hall. Great breakfast with lots of choice.

Not happy with this 4 stars

Very well centered and good breakfast choices

Old facility that need restoration, definitely not up to 4 star. The double bad was composed by 2 separate mattresses so quite uncomfortable and with the old windows the very loud street outside made quite difficult to have a good night sleep. On booking the parking was quoted 10 euro p/day, we got charged 15 euros p/day.

Very uncomfortable bed (some plastic sheet under the bedsheets, noisy bed). Bad smell coming in through the window. Work being done somewhere in the building (September 25).

Beautiful

Beautiful hotel situated 5 minutes stroll from the town centre, and a 15 minute walk from the train station, perfect location. All staff were lovely, very helpful in answering any questions we had. Luckily, the bedroom was air-conditioned as it was extremely hot (37°) when we were there.

Nice property with poor service

Great location, beautiful property, nice room.

The receptionist is not really trained to provide hotel services. She seemed to be occupied with her computer vs providing the information. There was no list of local restaurant - the information was given verbally and it was hard to understand the names. No help with luggage. No free water in the room.

Unexpected treasure

Historic hotel with very central location in an unexpectedly interesting city (with few hotels in the city centre). Also unexpected: the upgrading of the room from standard to junior suite without being told by the reception.

Marketing could be better :) (letting the customer know his room is a huge upgrade, even though he suspected it was)

Overheating in 4*Hotel Vittoria

Position, character, beautiful painted ceilings,

Off hand reception, no greeting or eye contact, kept waiting although no one being served and no queue. No information given re breakfast, no folder or info in room which I had presumed as reception so terse. We speak Italian well so language was not the issue. A different member of reception was very pleasant later so staff variable. We had an issue as the air cond was turned off, temp 30C, took explaining heart condition and necessity ,which was annoying as air cond was one of chief reasons for booking here. However it was turned off again in the night and we hardly slept. Very disappointed experience. Breakfast staffed by one overworked lady, no smile or pleasant greeting, very dour. Breakfast choices very average Continental style not 4* standard - no fresh fruit salad, squashed, flattened croissants, had much better breakfast choice in 3* Austrian hotel recently .

Free parking, as stated, but not in a lot; self-parking on the street. Easy enough to find a space (Saturday evening), though, and near enough to the hotel (two blocks away.)

We were thrilled to walk into our room with cool air conditioning during the heat of the summer. The bed was comfortable, wonderful breakfast, and great price for our stay.

Welcoming staff and central

Beautiful old building at the centre of Faenza. Welcoming staff. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The entrance and breakfast area are lovely.

As with every old place maintaining the style and amenities it is extremely difficult. The exterior was undergoing renovations when we visited. The interior has gone through various stages of renovations and tends to lose its character in the process. The bathrooms eventually will need to be renovated. The breakfast quality is disappointingly poor.
