Les Baguettes is situated in the small hamlet of Dolo with its own , bar, and restaurant with takeouts available. There is also a lake which can be fished and, for the energetic amongst you, there is a fitness trail which surrounds it also a childrens play area with a zip wire. The lake also has a wake park and snack bar.The closest large village is the picturesque Jugon Les Lacs.
approximately 2 miles away, with its bars, creperie, pizzeria (take aways available) and two restaurants. A small supermarket, newsagent, doctors, dentist, banks, hairdressers are also to be found here. Fishing permits are available from "la maison de la pêche" in Jugon.

We absolutely loved our stay with David and Sandy. We travelled as 2 families, 4 adults and 3 children aged 6,7 and 10. The property was neat and tidy and had all we needed for our 2 week stay. The pool was kept warm (30C) and clean, which isn't always the case with pools, due to cost. Hot tub was set at 40C and also very clean. We used the BBQ and all the garden facilities, so much for the kids to play with, meaning we had to bring less with us.Sandy and David were on hand along with their 2 cats Pixie and Maxi and a gorgeously natured dog called Misty. These helped make our children's holiday and added fun and entertainment everyday. The local bar/restaurant had some of the nicest food we ate on holiday and is friends with David and Sandy and lives next door. The village is full of friendly people and the park around the wakeboarding lake is great too. The waterpark was so much fun and we went on it twice. Next time we will try wakeboarding. Both costing 12 per hour, so extremely reasonable. So much to do within easy access and David and Sandy had so much useful information that helped us plan our trips to local towns, markets and beaches.Our children's best holiday to date.and I must say a very relaxed holiday for the grown ups too.Would definitely love to stay again.Thanks again The Kilsby's

A detached barn next to owners property. Lovely garden with a nice pool. The owners Sandy and David are very welcoming and friendly. The jacuzzi was relaxing but we did have a few issues which the owners tried to rectify. Unfortunately on a couple of occasions the water was dirty and an error code kept appearing. The owners changed the water and filter but this did not resolve the issue fully. Sandy gave us some great advice on places to visit which was wonderful. We felt at home. A beautiful quiet location. Very relaxing and comfortable.

We had the most amazing time staying at Sandy and David’s. They couldn’t have been more welcoming. The beds were comfortable and our boys enjoyed their room with a bunk bed and single bed. The swimming pool was great as was the whole garden - boules, badminton, a slide, swing set and plenty of space to play football. Jugon-les-Lacs is a 10 minute drive away, we ate there a few evenings. The wakepark (300 metres away) was great fun and the food is good. All in all a super 10 days. Thank you.

We had such an amazing break getting away from it all! Sandy and Dave were perfect hosts, really welcoming and helpful (even letting us check in a day early) but it’s the little touches that make it really special. It’s so lovely renting a property and it feeling like home... teabags, herbs, oil, dishwasher tablets! They have 2 pets which my children loved, in particular my little boy who has spent the last 2 days pretending to be dog and Pixie! The gite is fantastic, the pool amazing and the hot tub the icing on the cake. If you go, we highly recommend the wakeboard park, Donatello’s restaurant in Jugon, Pen guan beach and St Malo. We are just sad the new quarantine rules meant we had to leave a few days early but it’s gives us even more of a reason to go back! Sarah x

We had a simply perfect stay at this beautiful gite. Sandy and David were so friendly, hospitable and helpful from the moment we arrived. The gite was beyond perfect and incredibly spacious and clean. On arrival the welcome wine and groceries were much appreciated. Dolo is the ideal tranquil spot to explore Brittany as so many wonderful attractions are under an hour drive away, or to relax and simply enjoy the beautiful garden, hot tub and pool. Our 2 children aged 4 and 6 were fully entertained with the pool, hot tub, all of the toys, books, garden games and we spent many a night enjoying the wood burner, a movie and a bottle of cider! All of the beds are incredibly comfortable, the 2 bathrooms offering wonderfully hot powerful showers. The village of Dolo provided us with delicious croissants and baguettes. The owners of the boulangerie patiently smiled throughout my terrible French and were very kind. we enjoyed a wonderful walk around the wake park watching the impressive jumps and the children enjoyed the zip wire there. All in all, this is probably the best gite we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Thank you!

Hi Sandy and David, This is for sure one for the memory bank. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at "Les Baguettes" for 8 nights. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. Your welcome was as warm as the house (I should mention that a fire was waiting for us in the stove and all the radiators were cranked up) your patience and kindness were just amazing. We also found you very laid back and happy to share. Over the years, you have accumulated so much knowledge that you are a mine of information on the area. DogDog was a great attraction with the kids. We never saw such a kind and obedient canine before. The house is even better in reality than on the pictures, sparkling clean and very vast. The high ceilings really add to the space, the bedding is great, especially in the two upstairs rooms where our 5 kids were happy to sleep each in their own bed. The 7 of us were very comfy for 8 days without ever stepping on each others toes. Our 5 Kids loved the Jacuzzi, the Pool and the Garden with so many games that they did not know which one to pick. May you continue for many years to improve peoples lives by providing the community with such a great service with a wonderful heart and a great smile. All the best. A Lovely Week

We had a wonderful stay at 'Les Baguettes'. Sandy was a friendly and attentive host. The house is clean and well set up and good value for money. The location is in a quiet but pretty village with a lovely spot for lunch within walking distance. We traveled with our two children age 6.5 months and 2.5 years. The house is perfectly set up for a holiday with really small children, with the pool, hot tub and lots of toys and games in the garden you really don't need to go far! We would definitely return.

We stayed for one week in August with our daughter and two grandchildren aged 6 and 8. The house was very spacious and well equipped and thoughtfully provided with lots to entertain the children. The garden area was particularly popular with the children, especially the pool and hot tub. We loved the beaches nearby, especially St Jacut and Pen Guen which Sandy recommended, also the horse riding at Jugon and pedaloes on the lake. Sandy and David were delightful hosts, available when needed and good company but respectful of our privacy. We would certainly book this property again when we next come to Brittany.

We would like to thank Sandy and David for their helpfulness and friendliness during our week long stay with them. Our three little grandaughters absolutely loved the pool and hot tub and were quite tearful when we left to come home. Thank you also Sandy and David for our welcome pack of beer wine and other essentials it was extremely welcome after a day travelling in the car. We would love to return again soon.

We enjoyed 2 weeks here, with our 2 sons aged 3 and 16 months. The boys loved playing in the garden and exploring the local area. The barn is spacious and well equipped. The owners went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay. The bottles of wine when we arrived were very well received. We were fortunate to have warm weather, which meant we went to some nearby beaches. They were easy to get to and ideal for young children to play. We visited Dinard, St Cast and Dinan. We also went to the local lake and market. The water park not far from the barn is good to walk around and has a nice playground. We stopped for drinks at the cafe here and watched the wake boarders. We were sad to leave as we had such a lovely holiday.

Had a lovely stay. Gite is beautiful - everywhere is clean with lovely furnishings. On arrival there is a welcome pack of milk and other essentials and the log burner lit so lovely and cosy.Would like to say a special thank you to gite owners sandy and Dave who are the most helpful and lovely people and nothing is too much trouble for them. Would definitely stay here again.

Sandy was extremely welcoming and was able to recommend local restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed the complimentary red & white wine, eggs butter etc was much appreciated after our long journey. The gite was very comfortable and spacious. We particularly enjoyed the jacuzzi 'even in the rain'. The gite is located in a small village however, was close to many beautiful towns & villages such as Dinan. Would definitely recommend a stay and would love to return in the future❤️

The owners, Sandy and David, were extremely welcoming and very helpful during our stay . They informed us about local events and nothing was too much trouble. The gite was very comfortable and we enjoyed the heated pool and pretty gardens. Lots of games were provided including boule, badminton and swing ball, ideal for all ages. The locality was perfect for water sports on the lake and cycling and simply enjoying the beautiful tranquility of the countryside.

My husband and I along with our 2 boys (aged 6 & 2) had a wonderful time at this extremely well equipped gite in the heart of picturesque Dolo. We spent most of our time relaxing at the gite, taking advantage of the pool and hot tub. There is a lovely play park within walking distance which is located next to the local wake park where you can enjoy a nice walk around. We also visited Dinan which is only 20mins drive away and full of lovely things to see and do in this historic town. Sandy was a wonderful host and had thoughtfully left us a couple of bottles of wine & a few other bits and pieces to help us get started on our holiday. She was also a huge hit with our boys particularly our 2 year old Lewis who is still asking after her. We were very sad to be leaving after booking for only 1 week and will definitely look to return again soon & book a longer stay. Wonderful gite, host and location!!

What a fantastic property. We didn't want to leave and will definitely book again. Dolo is a quiet little village near a lake but really accessible as it's not far away from 2 motorways. The house was lovely and the kids loved the swimming pool and the hot tub. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. I definitely recommend it.

We had a great holiday at this first class Gite in the countryside of Brittany. The Gite is very attractive and well maintained with everything that you need and with a pretty garden. Best of all is the heated pool which our teenage daughter and her friend made use of at every available opportunity. Dolo is a quite village, but does have a very good creperie (and it is advisable to book as it seems to be very popular with the locals). Nearby is the town of Jugon Les lacs, the centre of which is quaint, but is also blessed with a Carrefour local - which is great for picking up supplies when you first get there, although our lovely hosts Sandy and David kindly provide the essentials (including wine and beer) to tide us through our first night. Out and about: visits to the coast and some excellent beaches are an easy 30 to 40 minutes’ drive away, but if you fancy some exercise, then Jugon Les Lacs is easily walkable across county and then along by the lake. So – to the inevitable questions: Did we enjoy our stay? Very much. Would we recommend? Definitely. Would we like to stay again? Absolutely.

We have just returned from a 5 day break in Les Baguettes. It is situated in the quiet hamlet of Dolo which has a small bar tabac and bakery for your morning croissant. The barn has been carefully converted into a three bed / 2 bathroom house. Our adult daughter had the upstairs - which consists of 2 lovely bedrooms and a family bathroom and separate toilet. We had the downstairs double room with en-suite bathroom,ideal for me as I find the stairs a bit of a challenge ! The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need - washing machine, dish-washer, games (indoor and outdoor), British television, D.V.D.s and all the usual pots, pans, crockery etc. We even found milk, wine, and a few other essential items on arrival. The lovely garden ( full of flowers and shrubs) has a children's play area, a boule court and a swimming pool large enough for all three of us to have some fun in the sun. Not forgetting the barbeque which we made full use of. Sandy and David ( the owners ) are charming hosts and could not have been more helpful. Although they live in close proximity to the house they are never invasive but always available if you have any questions. There is so much to do in the surrounding area that we could have stayed a month without running out of new places to visit. St Malo ( about 40 mins. drive) is a "must see".Dinan, the medieval town is approximately 25 minutes away and is delightful. There are numerous beaches within a short drive and lots of lovely countryside . The nearest town is Jugon Le Lac which has a number of restaurants and a lovely lake. ( Dolo also has a small lake which you can walk around ). All-in-all I would rate Les Baguettes as one of the very best Owners Direct accommodation that we have stayed in ( we have been using the company for many years ) Well done to Sandy and David for providing everything possible to make a holiday complete.

We had a wonderful week at Les Baguettes with our daughters, aged 4 and 1. We'd searched long and hard for somewhere that was going to be perfect for our family - and at Les Baguettes, we found exactly what we wanted. The girls loved the garden with its swing set, slide, boule run, swing ball and, of course, the pool. The interior was cosy, comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything provided (right down to a bottle of wine, which was much appreciated after travelling!). Plus our car was a little lighter because we didn't have to take a highchair or travel cot with us. Owners Sandy and David couldn't have been more welcoming and we enjoyed many chats with them during our stay. They made us feel comfortable and relaxed from the start and obviously enjoy having guests. Having stayed somewhere in the UK last year that was covered in notices about what you couldn't do, it was refreshing to stay somewhere that you could feel at home in. Dolo is your typical French village - small, quaint and quiet. There's a shop/bakery/bar and a creperie, although this appears to be being refurbished, which was a shame. The area around Dolo is lovely – we particularly enjoyed our days out to La Bourbansais, the aquarium at Saint-Malo and Les Jardins de Broceliande. We had leisurely strolls around the lake at Dolo as well as exploring Jugon-les-Lacs. But it was equally as enjoyable to chill out at Les Baguettes and make use of the games, jigsaws, books and DVDs all thoughtfully provided. We'd love to return to Les Baguettes one day and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a place to stay. Thank you again Sandy and David for being such wonderful hosts.
