Riad Itrane

We absolutely loved our stay at this Riad in Morocco. It felt incredibly authentic and truly special, offering a unique glimpse into local culture and charm. Getting there involved walking through a lively and chaotic city centre, but once inside, it was like stepping into a peaceful oasis—calm, beautiful, and very quiet. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay—warm, welcoming, and always available to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality really made the experience even more memorable. The breakfast each morning was abundant, delicious, and very thoughtfully prepared, adding a wonderful start to each day. Overall, a truly special and unforgettable stay that we would highly recommend.

The only minor downside, and this is really down to personal preference, was that there isn’t a lot of natural light in the rooms. That said, this is me being quite picky, as overall the property is exceptional and this didn’t take away from the experience at all.

From the moment we were met at the airport, I knew we were in for a special time. We were escorted through the chaos of the Medina, through narrow winding alleys, then through a solid wooden door into an oasis of charm and peace. The staff were charming and welcoming, the ambience subtly managed with scents and sounds, the inner courtyards filled with orange trees and bird song. Our room was spacious, private and beautiful , and comfortable in every way. It felt like a space that had been providing understated luxury for centuries. Breakfast each morning was delicious and relaxed. The pool was private and always a cool relief from the heat of the day, and there was always a cat to play with wherever you sat.

The only thing I would change would be a slightly brighter light bulb in the shower room

This is a complex situation because we had to switch our hotel in our second day. But although this happened, i was sorry to leave this place. The main issue was that we arrived there with our 2 years old baby. This was an issue because the old town environment is closed to traffic and you have to walk around 10 minutes in the very heat. And the narrow roads are not easy at all with the baby stroller. And inside the hotel is very naturally not a baby friendly place. Our baby wanted to dive into the pool or climb the stairs in our room every second we left her free. So it was uncontrollable for us. For sure this has nothing to do with the hotel. It had such an amazing atmosphere that i regret not coming before our baby with my wife. It would be amazing to spend hours inside the riad. And everybody is very kind and helpful.

Just two things i would note; firstly about the breakfast. We already saw that the breakfast was beginning at 08.30 but in our communication before with the hotel, we were told that they can prepare us breakfast earlier if we need. And also in the reviews, many people were thankful about this service. But in reality, we just had some snacks, not the very praised breakfast. The gentlemen was kind enough to prepare eggs for our baby but that wasn't in the original menu. Having the breakfast early is important for us because it starts to get very hot in short time and we didn't have time to lose. About the dinner, it was nice, i liked it but still the expectancy created was a bit higher. And the price was also a bit high. And finally, it would be unfair to say that the photos are misleading but still, it gives the image that the areas are slightly larger.

Good location, staffs are nice.

The hotel itself is fine, but avoid booking their tours. We were taken by the hotel’s guide to buy overpriced, poor-quality goods, and when we complained the hotel offered no real help — only excuses and unreasonable requests. Later, we booked a tour through Booking.com instead, which was excellent value, with a fantastic guide and no pressured shopping. My advice: stay here if you like, but don’t book their tours or extra services.
