Very welcoming and accommodating stay. They had a secure place for my bicycle. Would happily stay again.

The room was spacious and stayed surprisingly cool despite the 35 degree weather (impressive considering I was staying in the South-side of the hotel, under the roof). The location is good for a quiet stay: right next to the river and very close to the starting point of the hike up the Gaisberg mountain, which I highly recommend (900m elevation, well signposted, great views). The hotel could facilitate my very early arrival on Monday morning, which I very much appreciated.

The wifi was almost non-existent in my room, though reception might be better in more centrally located rooms. There was no refrigerator or air conditioning (a bit problematic because I was carrying medicine with me). There was nobody present on Monday and Tuesday, which resulted in some minor miscommunications. Reaching Salzburg city center takes a 20 minutes walk or a ride on one of the buses (which have a frequency of about 1 bus/hour), so this place is less suitable for people who want to focus on the cultural attractions.

The location is okay, most places were accessible via buses and trams nearby. The room was clean and fairly comfortable

I'm open to this potentially being a cultural difference, but overall with the exception of 1-2 staff members, I didn't find the people here particularly pleasant. I also got a message after checking out that they couldn't find my room key, which I returned on the day of check out, so potentially their system could use some refining. I also believe there should be stricter restrictions on quiet hours, as guests staying on the same floor as me were playing loud music and shouting down the hall to each other very late at night and from 5.45am in the morning! The staff never felt approachable with any issues as you always feel you're inconveniencing them as they're so busy with the restaurant.
