Great water location with a balcony.

A bit costly.

I’m a history buff so knowing someone decided to renovate and modernize a historical lakeside getaway was impressive! The room was clean and comfy, the staff was friendly and helpful, restaurant was very good (a bit pricey) but it’s convenient so that accounts for a lot. Overall our time there was pleasant and enjoyable and should we find the need to go to the Michigan Upper Peninsula again, this hotel will be the first we call on for accommodations!

We had a room in what they refer to as “The Towers”, the accommodations were great however we had a guest on the floor above us that when he/she moved about they sounded like Godzilla trying to stomp Tokyo into dust. They also have a new atrium between the old section and new of the facility. It just so happened that a bus tour left earlier in the morning and was a bit loud due to the echo in the atrium, thanks largely to an older lady to whom I will affectionately refer to as “Bullhorn Betty” and her loud talking. Some hanging tapestries or something to deaden the sound would be beneficial. But if our room was down the hallway farther that would have rectified the situation easily as well.
