I have been coming up to Tahoe every summer for the past 50+ years and have stayed at numerous hotels, motels and Inns and this stay was particularly outstanding. The staff went out of its way to see to every need was was extremely helpful and friendly.
The price was fair and the room was very rustic and comfortable in every aspect. This is one of the very few hotels to have air conditioning furthering a very comfortable room.
I will definitely be returning to Basecamp in the future! Thanks

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and felt right at home. The bed and shower were comfortable, and the room was nice and large. We enjoyed the fire pit and happy hour each night. Perfect location to walk to town. Pleasant staff.

I stayed at Basecamp Hotel, and I want to share an honest review for future travelers.
The location is definitely a plus—it’s convenient and close to attractions. However, the room itself was extremely disappointing.
After checking in at the front desk and receiving the key, we went straight to the room—but we did not stay even a single night. The moment we entered, we immediately noticed how unclean and poorly maintained the room was. There was even a dead bug on the floor, the carpet looked dirty, and the room felt dark and unpleasant.
Because of these conditions, we decided to leave right away and book another hotel on the same day. It was not a place we felt comfortable staying in at all.
To be completely honest, this feels more like a motel rather than a hotel.
I’m sharing this review to help other travelers make informed decisions. Not all experiences are reflected in positive or filtered reviews, and I believe it’s important to be transparent.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their cleanliness and overall standards, because the location has potential, but the current condition does not meet expectations.
