Chisolm Trail Villa

On arrival, Letty met me at the car and walked me to the room, It was nice to be greeted and gave me a warm feeling. The hosts were warm, friendly and welcoming. The room was large, has all the amenities and was very clean. Brain and Letty made me feel at home and my stay was comfortable and peaceful.

Location was nice. You could see the city below. It was a bit dated but not a bad space for an overnighter, but the bathroom was spacious with a walk in shower.The mini fridge was a great addition for our leftovers and waters. The hosts were lovely and friendly. The price was half of a hotel room , and not sure that would have been any better. We'd stay there again.

It's says ground level, but you do need to go up a hill to get to the room. Also, you can't lock the arcadia(patio) door, but it's not likely someone is going to come up that drive (it's steep) to check out someone's home, so not that big a deal for us.

My only real complaint is the door lock situation. There are two interior doors in the room which lead to the inside of the house. These are residential grade, hollow core doors and had only residential grade privacy locks (the kind everyone is familiar with at their home). I found this a little creepy and not very secure. Also, the arcadia door locked from the inside but not from the outside, so there was no way to secure our belongings if we went out. Guests must feel safe and know that their belongings are secure. These may not seem like a huge deal for some folks, but in my 30 years of working in the hospitality industry, I had never encountered this and I found it a bit disturbing. My only recommendation would be to install solid core doors with deadbolt locks on the two interior doors along with an arcadia door lock that locks from the outside. Aside from the lock situation, we were very comfortable and because of the quiet surroundings (we were the only guests) we were able to get a good night's rest. The views from this place are spectacular and we were very comfortable during our stay.

Comfortable and private room

Not a nice villa to myself as was implied on this website when I booked and paid double the rate of similar Airbnb rooms I rented: you’re renting a room in a private older home - typical of many Airbnb homes I rented over the years, the owners live in the same home and they enjoy most of the home, kitchen and deck with views. Owner was nice and my room was good but the listing description did not state that this is not private hotel - I expected more.
