Hampton Inn & Suites Madison Downtown

Place was clean, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was well run. It was close to UW Madison.

The pillows were not great.

The staff was amazing our entire stay. Hotel was great, beds comfy, food good. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!

We were upgraded for our 23rd wedding anniversary! It was a wonderful surprise. And we received a bottle of wine. What a wonderful way to make us feel special! Staff was so kind and so attentive.

Excellent staff — welcoming, responsive, cheerfully and capably supplied requested information as needed. Hot tea water was always available — Thanks! (we tea drinkers are often overlooked). My room was clean, spacious and in excellent condition; very pleasant to return to after a long day.

In contrast to the rest of my experience at the hotel, breakfast was a huge disappointment. I had looked forward to the convenience of breakfast in the hotel, and it had influenced my choice of hotel. Here's what I found: a limited selection of highly processed cereal. Tiny cups of yogurt so full of preservatives and additives I would not consider eating it. (Yogurt consists of pasteurized milk and active cultures, with perhaps some fruit and sweetener. Read the lengthy list of ingredients — your "yogurt" is a chemist's concoction, not a healthy breakfast offering. This is the Dairy State; surely you can do better!) A desultory tepid presentation of limp little "Western omelettes", mystery sausage patties and tired looking potatoes. Tiny highly processed pastries. I had some orange juice and went elsewhere. You can easily do better! Much as I enjoyed the rest of my experience, I would hesitate to recommend the hotel based on the poor quality of the breakfast offerings.
