Location
They advertise breakfast. There really is no breakfast. Their breakfast consists of coffee with terrible creamer. A small package of oatmeal and a granola bar. No milk for your oatmeal. So pretty much you are eating a prepackaged oatmeal dry. The electricity went out in part of the room which was never fixed. I had to change rooms late at night.

Let me start by saying, if you’re looking for a place that actually feels like home instead of just another hotel room with four walls and a checkout time this is it. Extended Stay Carlsbad Village by the Sea delivers peace, comfort, and a personal touch that’s almost impossible to find these days.
I don’t have a problem with the property to be honest.

The only thing I liked was your location.
Cockroaches ruined our whole trip. I have video showing where the roaches were coming out from. Staff didn't care i still payed full price for the days we stood. The no concern from staff was the cherry on top.

Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. We liked having a refrigerator and microwave.
We had to ask for things like silverware. There were no plates or cups and it was pretty bare-bones. We're used to having a kitchen with everything there like we get in a timeshare or Airbnb.

GREAT FRONT DESK PEOPLE. Friendly and welcoming. Great Experience.
Nothing to not like. Great place to stay. A warm meal for breakfast would have been nice.

Location is perfect. Affordable. Clean. Quiet depsite being right off a freeway. Despite my dislikes; I would stay again- but I would bring muscle relaxers, ibuprofen and maybe Raid bug spray.
The beds are terrible, thin, you will feel the springs and may wake stiff and with pain you don’t normally have. Ants invading the shower. $1 to pick up the phone even if no call connects according to sign in room- I didn’t try. Weird though. No soap or anything basic that used to be there. Not even a coffee maker in the room with a kitchen. Odd.

The location is very good with the beach , shops and eating places all within walking distance. It is nice to have the pool which was kept clean.
The breakfast was a bit spartan not much of a choice and some mornings there were shortages .

CLOSE TO OCEAN. AWESOME
CHECK IN WAS FINE. WE HAD ANTS IN BATHROOM AND ALL OVER THE FLOOR IN THE MAIN BEDROOM. LOTS OF ANTS. I HAD THEM IN MY SUITCASE WHEN I GOT HOME. BREAKFAST WAS TERRIBLE. COFFEE WAS HORRIBLE. I COULDNT EVEN DRINK IT. MUFFINS AND BREAKFAST BARS WERE IT. NOT MUCH TO CHOSE FROM. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN AND I WILL NOT SUGGEST IT TO ANYONE EITHER.

Location
The room was a handicap room which we didn’t want or request; the door handle to the bathroom was broken along with the shower seat. The bathroom was extremely dangerous, the tile was slick and both my wife and I almost fell trying to take a shower because the shower sprayed all over the room. Being a handicap room there were no countertops in the bathroom, no place to put any items such as toothbrushes etc. There are no ice machines, we were told to make our own ice, which can take hours.

Nice location
The a/c didn’t work so it was hot and humid and there were cockroaches everywhere and they wanted to charge me extra to switch rooms

The bed mattress was cozy . made for a good nights rest. the room itself overall was comfortable. i enjoyed the mini kitchen area along with the nice tv and closet area.
located right next to the freeway so it gets loud at night. i had ants crawling all around my sink area, on the walls and on the floors which was unpleasant. the bed frame itself is metal and not connected to the floor so any wrong movement and the bed frame was shifting around leading to pillows falling on the floor from behind.

It was in a great location. Quiet and away from traffic still close to beaches and convince store.
People were smoking on the first floor made it smell to walk thru to get to outside door.

I really liked that Marisol and her team accommodated me as I came in early to see if a room was available for early check in. It was. I came to run the Carlsbad 5000 and the hotel opened breakfast up an hour early giving runners the opportunity to eat before the run. I really liked the location of this place. I am so happy to see that the room came with a full kitchen!! Wow!!
The room could have been cleaned a little better. I found a cockroach that was nearly dead on the floor and a few hairs in the bathtub. But other than that, it did not feel yucky. Just not the cleanest because of the two things described.

The room was nice and clean when we got in and was able to fit my family and two small dogs. Overall this is a decent place if you want to stay on the cheap while you are in the San Diego area as it was close to the beach and most other attractions.
This location work if you are traveling and willing to buy your own food for breakfast. The breakfast that is provided is very small and I had to pay for additional meals out just to make sure they had enough fuel for the day. The halls smelled of people cooking meals from other rooms most of the time.

I really like the location. I really wish that house keeping would check out the room properly, I mean to make sure everything works in the room. The TV turns on, and says what program you are watching, but you couldn't see anything showing on the TV. I had explained this at the front desk, he said there's nothing that he can do. Due to no maintenance person on duty??? I really wish that these standards could be upgraded, knowing that I paid good money to stay at a top rated Hotel. I had also stayed the following night 🌙 in San Diego.

Cheap, comes with small kitchenette. Laundry
You get what you pay for here. We had to switch rooms because the first room smelled like cigarettes.
Cards stopped working randomly twice through out our stay which was a bummer.
To do a single load of laundry (wash and dry) will cost around $5.

Absolutely nothing!!!
From the lobby to the elevator, all the way down the hallway to the room was dirty. The hotel is in much need of repairs, replacing furniture and a good good cleaning. I got two rooms for the night and the toilet was not working in one of the rooms we went down to tell the receptionist and she said unfortunately, they did not have a maintenance person on the premises. At that time. Are you kidding me? There was a lady there that was talking with her before we arrive to tell her about the situation, that lady suggested that we use a plunger. The receptionist did change the room to a different room didn’t make a difference. The hotel was in such a bad shape, we just couldn’t spend the night. Got my family and left.

Rude staff and dirty floor in the hallway.

The staff was good and trying so hard, but with 350 rooms, they needed more help.
This use to be a great location but now the area is pretty seedy.
The property was very dirty, very understaffed, and the carpets were disgusting! Also there were squatters living on the second floor that at times were soliciting money out front. Evidently management has to go to court to remove the squatters.

Location.
Amenities were really old and looked, felt like yard sale items. There was no blow dryer, shampoo, or conditioners. I could have asked for items at the front desk but these should be standard.

The property was ok, they cancelled our reservation for no show after 1am, we arrive at 2am due to our flight being delayed. They couldn’t rebook us. We were homeless for a couple hours and to find a new hotel to stay at.

They allow dogs and the property is very walkable to all of Carlsbad village. Check in was easy and I was not able to hear the freeway from the hotel room
I booked a king room but when I arrived they said there were none available. Instead I got a room with two full size mattresses. The hotel could have been cleaned and the rooms need updating
