Beautiful view & easy beach access, but check over the patio chairs before you sit down

Great location right on the beach, with easy beach access (a short flight of stairs), and a beautiful room with a fireplace and ocean view. The bathroom was gorgeous, with a mirror that lights up around the edges and a beautiful rain shower with beach stone mosaic on the walls. The room was clean and had a great view of the ocean.

When we checked in, the leg of plastic patio chair on the balcony broke as soon as I sat down on it, causing me to fall with my baby in my arms and scraping and bruising both of us. I’ve never had a chair break on me before, so it was quite a shock, and I’m already disabled and living with chronic pain, so this was not a great way to start our vacation. We immediately took pictures and my husband went to tell the front desk, and I spoke with them too later, but they didn’t seem to take it seriously and said the previous occupant might’ve broken the chair “as a prank.” But hotels should check that the furniture is intact and safe before new guests stay, it’s a huge safety issue and my baby and I were both scraped and bruised from hutting the concrete in the fall. The fireplace was gas (with a switch on the wall) but didn’t have a glass front, it was open to the flame with just a hanging metal mesh screen. When we lit the fireplace it was nice and cozy, but then my husband and I both got headaches soon afterward, so we turned it off in case maybe it was the gas. While the bed was comfortable, the furniture was older and the table and chairs were heavily scratched/scuffed up. Overall I get the impression that the rooms here are not very well maintained, not checked over thoroughly between guests, just kind of bare-minimum upkeep. The only other con is the lack of an elevator, but I was aware of that when I booked the room and I can go up and down a flight of stairs, it’s just not ideal since I live with chronic pain and some mobility issues.

Gorgeous room with a view

The third floor room was beautiful. Loved the working fireplace, the view from the balcony, bed was comfortable and bathroom was nice. The pool and hot tub were open, front desk staff was friendly enough and helpful when I had a question.

They were working on the outside patio - so when I used the hot tub the view was of the construction. Also the window next to the hot tub could use a deep clean but otherwise it was enjoyable It would also have been nice to have a broom accessible to keep from tracking the sand around the room.

The main door to enter the room would not shut all the way, gap between the framing of the door and the insulation that runs around the trim of the door. The wind was blowing outside the night we stayed. Because of the combination of the gap and the wind, a loud noise was present at the front door; very annoying! We were in room 47

I had a nice view of the ocean and beach.

The stairs are not in the best shape, and narrow. The stairwells were narrow as well. They are probably not up to current code. My room was on the 3rd floor, and going up and down multiple times to unload and load my bags was sketchy to say the least. I almost tripped and fell a couple of times. There is no other access to upper floors.

Awesome place to stay

Location, the balcony, was neat to look out the door and see the ocean. The fireplace gave the room the added touch. Love the glass shower and the sand/rock border in the shower. The mirror in the bathroom is awesome as well! The person who checked us in, not sure if it was the owner, he said he lived across the street, was very friendly. The next morning we accidentally locked our keys in the room and he promptly helped us and didnt make us feel stupid.

That it didn't have a little longer pool hours. And parking spaces to small for big trucks

Location is awesome. Beds were comfortable. Balcony was perfect. Pool was great. Appreciate being next door to others in our group. Full kitchen was helpful. Thank you for allowing us to borrow a vacuum.

Rooms with windows should have safety locks for children so they can be open but not wide enough for accidents. Rooms with full kitchens could have more supplies like coffee filters, up to 6 place settings, etc.

Everything I needed to have the perfect beach trip as a single parent!

Everything! My kids and I had the double queen bed room, which had a mini kitchen with a full fridge, stove, and kitchen utensils! We had a primo view of the ocean and the stunning beach was nearly steps away! The beds were very comfortable and the bathtub was nice and deep, allowing this single mother the chance to get a good soak in while there!

My only drawback would be the parking lot, which is very small and harder to navigate if you have a wider or more boxy vehicle, but my kids and I will definitely stay at the Sandcastle again!!

Before is share .. The rate of the room was high. I would have expected 5 star hotel. The room was spacious. The mini fridge freezer was just right and freezer froze ice! The Bathroom and kitchen options were ideal. And shower was designed for tall people — my husband appreciated that! Location close to most things off the highway ocean front. Quiet location Grandchild loved the room and pool and she had no complaints. I’d stay again if rate more affordable

Broken fireplace, dresser falling apart someone drilled a bunch of holes in it and the handles were falling off. Pool was cold and hot tub not working. The hot tub strainer basket was full of old bandaids and debris not serviced in a while it would seem. Jets not functioning either. Water was not 110 degrees but warmer than the pool. The room was set to 72 and pool was colder than the room

Our bathroom was nicely renovated and the floors seemed newer. The bed was comfy. The room seemed very clean. The view of the ocean was incredible. It was nice they had coffee makers.

It had a very old fireplace, no closet or area to hang anything (weird, right?), no luggage stands (even though there was room), horribly lumpy pillows (and when I tried to get a better one they said “sorry, those are all we have), the sheets seemed cheap and didn’t fit right (they kept popping off the mattress -we literally had to safety pin them on), a relatively small TV and we couldn’t get the remote to work right, very thin walls, and no elevator to get to a third story room with bags.

We were the first guest to stay in our room after the remodeling. Our room remodel was done beautifully. We found out that the rocks used on the shower walls belonged to the owner’s private collection, a very nice touch!!
