Staff does not answer phones. Nobody was there to check us in. Stood outside for an hour in the rain and nobody ever answered a phone, returned voicemail or text. Another guest finally told us that the staff said they were going home early for the holiday. I was as very disappointed. I was looking forward to staying at the bed and breakfast for my birthday. Booking.com said they contacted the property and could not get a response within 45 mins (this check in the as going onto 3 hours by now) so they say they will refund me if the property does not. If they don’t, I have to contact the property for a receipt. Puts all the responsibility on me to work with property that STILL has not reached out to me, despite multiple voicemails and texts and email messages via booking.com.
Unresponsive staff or property management. Could not check in after we arrived. Ended up booking another hotel (The Lodge by Tapestry Hilton and as amazing and I highly recommend them!!)

The location was great - walking distance to town and quiet. The historical aspect of the building. It was pleasant speaking to other guests over the breakfast meal.
I think the breakfast meal could have been better. We missed having a shower option (tub only)

Breakfast was great. Staff was wonderful and accommodating. And the house was beautiful. The only problem was the bathroom in our suite was very difficult to use… Sloping ceilings and handheld shower with no shower curtain?
The shower as mentioned above

From before checking in all the way to check out, the staff at Calderwood Inn could not be more hospitable. They helped us reserve a tasting at one of the wineries they are affiliated with prior to our arrival. When we arrived, there were warm cookies and a bottle of wine waiting for us. Our room was very comfortable and we loved being able to hang out in all the common areas. The location is an easy walk to the center plaza and everything was beautiful at this time of year with the changing foliage. Also, the breakfast that was included was amazing!! We can’t wait to stay at the Calderwood Inn again in the future!!

The location was great. We met interesting people over wine tasting and breakfast. The Inn is beautifully decorated.
The door handle to the bathroom came off in our hand. My husband got locked in the bathroom the next morning, and I had to get the innkeeper to open the door for him. The toilet didn’t flush, and we again had to get the innkeeper to fix it. Also, the ceiling in the bathroom and on one side of the bed were curved, and my husband must have hit his head at least twice. We are not particularly tall people. I will never book at this hotel again.
The morning of our departure the innkeeper told us that she would give us a refund, but since we booked with Booking.com, we would have to work with you to effect the refund. Please follow up with them.

The bed was comfortable.
We were very disappointed with our stay at the Calderwood Inn. When we arrived, the woman who greeted us was not friendly at all, which was not a great first impression. We had booked one of the more expensive rooms, but it was located outside and far from the main house. We had to walk in the rain to get there, and no umbrellas were provided even though the bad weather was expected.
Inside the room, the curtains were too short and let light through. The bathroom had no place to sit or store anything, and the toilet was loose. The shower water pressure was extremely weak. There was also no real place to store clothes—just a few hangers, no dresser or cabinet.
The bed was comfortable, which was one of the few positives, but it didn’t make up for the many issues. The internet never worked the entire time we were there. When I mentioned it to staff, they said they knew it had been down but didn’t do anything because “no one else complained.”
The breakfast was just okay. When I asked for a little more food, I was told they didn’t have any extra and that they only prepare a fixed amount.
The walking entrance off the street not safe—uneven pavement with poor lighting at night, which made it hard to walk. I even tripped a couple of times. The main entrance had plastic sheets hanging down to block rain, making it look like a construction site. There was no railing on the stairs, and you had to hold the heavy plastic to get through.
For the price, it was absolutely not worth it. I really expected a much better experience given the cost and reputation of the property.

Location was quite good. The house is interesting and the porch is a lovely place to sit and have a glass of wine in the evening.
The complementary wine and cookies in the late afternoon is a nice touch.
Room was a good size.
Annoyingly the wifi was not working for the duration of our stay with the advice being to walk down to one of the sister properties and use theirs. We asked repeatedly when it was going to be fixed but there seemed no urgency to fix it.
Breakfast was OK but no choice and when we asked for something different we were told that's it. One of our party does not eat bacon/ham, both of which we plonked on the plate on successive mornings.
Hanging space in the room was very limited as were the number of hangers. Also, there was a fan/compressor that constantly started and stopped either from the room above or next door. The noise was in our bathroom and even with the bathroom door closed we could still hear it at night.
In a two week California trip, staying in San Francisco, Napa and Yosemite, this was the most expensive per night accomodation and it was not worth the price.

Staff is great, rooms are clen and bed is really comfortable.
Breakfast is great, but it would be awesome to have a protein (meat) available. Both days were eggs plus vegetables only and yougurt with fruit. Very good, but an addition of meat would be better.

Beautiful grounds and lovely inn. Breakfast was fabulous and plentiful.
Air conditioner was on full blast and no way to turn it down. Texted host but no reply. New bottle of red wine in pallor but no corkscrew.

Love the Inn and its location. The afternoon wine and choc chip cookies make us feel welcome. IT's also a great opportunity to connect with other guests and swap stories. Breakfasts are generally good, especially the fruit and yoghurt. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. We also enjoy visiting the wineries under the same group which we have found to be of excellent quality.
We've previously stayed in an upstairs room which was very comfortable. We were put into a room under the Inn which was also comfortable but I didn't like that there were no windows. It was quite warm and we were unable to have any air circulating. AC was ok but noisy.

Beautiful old Inn. Lovely gardens and walking distance to Healdsburg restaurants and other in-town attractions. Our room, a suite, had a nice amount of space, and a nice patio for relaxing. . Breakfast was freshly cooked and was very good. The staff was amazing!
The bathroom, which was lovely, had a musty odor that got worse over our short stay. The air conditioning wall units, which were absolutely necessary due to the heat, were very noisy making it difficult to sleep. There was a couch in our suite which doubles as a bed and wasn’t great for sitting. A couple comfy chairs would have been appreciated.

Calderwood exceeded our expectations in every conceivable way. My partner and I traveled for our engagement trip, and planned around the 4th to escape the explosions, and even with the holiday it was such a peaceful environment to stay. I have many health and allergy issues that make traveling inaccessible to us most of the time, but staff not only asked what I was coming with, but made sure every breakfast had an option I could eat safely. The inn is beautifully kept, quiet, incredibly comfortable, and the grounds are wonderful for reading, bocce, evening walks, or sitting out in the morning. My partner and I have quickly found our favorite place to stay in Northern California, and intend to return very soon!
In the duration of our stay, my partner and I had no complaints about facilities, comfort, meals or staff, and were completely satisfied with our experience. It was truly a second-home feeling, and we are very happy to return.

Everything! It was gorgeous and clean and very classy. It was a joy to visit and wish we could’ve stayed longer. Breakfast was gorgeous!
Wish it was a tad bit closer to downtown but very walkable. A beautiful old Victorian lady!!

Breakfast yogurt, berries and granola were nice touch. Staff were welcoming; good location. Inn looked charming as advertised. Reasonable price for area. St. Anne’s room looked as pictured on website. Ample parking.

Breakfast and coffee were always lukewarm. Felt like everything had been prepared earlier and just warming until you got there. Didn’t have choice for breakfast, so would have been nice to have some pastries (homemade or from bakery - not Costco) or possibly toast if you didn’t like the entree.
Disappointed in the complimentary wine hour as it was between 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm. which is the time most people are out exploring the area. Prefer happy hour anytime after 4:00 pm.
The St. Anne’s suite’s glass entry double door curtains would not close; took really long time for water to heat in bathroom; and lighting in the room quite dim.
Housekeeping did not clean sink and counter or make bed. Only replenished bathroom towels.
Fairly quiet room except could hear people in room above us getting up several times during the night.
Private outside patio wasn’t cleaned and no outside cushions were on patio furniture. Disappointing as weather was close to 80 degrees and beautiful.
Grounds of the Inn are beautiful but unkempt.

Good location only a 10 minute walk to the plaza. The breakfast wasn’t bad but has a lot of room for improvement the choice of teas and coffees is good the quality of the food served is meh. The staff are all friendly some of the rules and practices are bizarre eg the main entrance is at the back and to get to the back one has to walk along a poorly lit path.Lights come on after you passed them (super dangerous).there is one small fridge on site for guests to use it’s on the FRONT step but as I said you can’t enter the front door from the outside getting to the front porch is also a fairly dangerous exercise due to the lighting. The shower in the room was the worst that I have ever encountered and I travelled in China in the early 90s the challenge of getting the hot and cold to be in balance long enough to have a shower was a mighty one . The staff we very nice and the availability of a freshly baked cookie each afternoon was nice touch

The Calderwood Inn is cute and welcoming. We loved the decorative details of our room and the hotel in general. The breakfasts were delicious!
Aside from during breakfast, we never saw any staff, which was odd.

The breakfast was great and the innkeeper was very accommodating and even left us breakfasts to go in the fridge since we were leaving for an early bike ride. We were very appreciative!
The rooms were cute and comfortable, but it would be nice if they could be renovated and if there were more convenient electrical outlets.

I thought the breakfast and treats were fabulous, and the room was lovely and comfortable.
I’m allergic to down, and would’ve preferred foam pillows. Also, my room was either super hot or too cold. The thermostat was not working correctly.
