Very enjoyable experience despite the drizzly day.

The staff was wonderful. We booked 3 rooms as we were traveling with family. Deb made sure my elderly mom had an easily accessible room, reminded me that the Shadowbrook restaurant would send their classic cab for us (which was a nice birthday surprise for my mom) and in general was warm and welcoming. And, when I managed to leave some clothing items in the closest, I was called and informed and they immediately shipped me everything. Really nice!

Our bed was a bit lumpy/soft.

A motel with boutique hotel prices

The ocean view from the upstairs deck is great (see pic) and you can hear the waves. Super friendly staff. Large room with great kitchenette, and spacious bathroom with fantastic water pressure. The cottages, with their private decks and barbeque grills, look amazing.

They pack rooms into every corner of the property, and our room was in the parking lot (see pic). While they email and text and message you non-stop to offer assistance, it's automated - no one ever responds if you do ask for help. Our coffee maker was broken, and "breakfast" (see pic) is fruit, plastic-wrapped bagels and English muffins, and packets of cheap oatmeal (no protein!) on a bookcase (in a stairwell!). We laughed to keep from crying. The nice attendant admitted they always run out of food, so WTH? While super close, the beach is not picturesque, and better suited for surfers and dog walkers. Access involves wading through brackish water (see pic). Not their fault - just not the luxe beach property advertised.

Cute property, great location, but I would only rent this unit again if the carpets were replaced.

The location was amazing and the setting was very cute. There were plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy.

The carpet in the tower unit I stayed in had big stains on it right in the middle of the living area. I understand it is a pet friendly unit, however, it was really gross to see first thing. I mentioned it to the front desk and she said a manager would be there in the morning to discuss but when I went over no one was there. I ended up putting towels down over it so I wouldn’t have to look at it. A pet unit really should have no carpet in my opinion (the person at the front desk mentioned the other pet friendly units have wood floors). That being said, the kitchen was darling with a vintage feel, very clean, and the bathroom was nice also.

Well, for one I thought the room would be bigger considering it said 2 twins. I walked in and it ended up being a trundle. So you can’t really hang out in the living room area cause it’s actually just the room. So we had to hang out the patio most of our stay. Two, it says room has sea view but barely. Once you sit on a chair you can’t see the view anymore. Thirdly i’m all about cleanliness. I had a dirty used sponge in the kitchen next to a halfway dish soap bottle. One toilet paper on the roll, no extras, I had to ask. I asked for service to clean the place, replace my sheets and blankets, when we came back to our room the bed was made but there were stains like signs of use. So seems like either blankets were dirty or used the same ones used the night before. Also, we cooked in the kitchen but the alarm kept going off, it was too sensitive with very little smoke. That was annoying to hear the alarm every single time. Breakfast is not what you think it is, just bagels, muffins, the basics and coffee that got me sick most of the day. I really wanted to love this place even if it was pricey , I expected more due to cost. But it is not worth the price on weekends. The bad out weighed the good.

The kitchen was poorly stocked, with bare minimums: 2 of each utensil type, lacking a sponge, dish towel or cloth, no serving bowl, pot holders, etc. They charged $100 pet fee per night—$300 total for 3 nights, yet never cleaned our room. Our room (Dolphin Room), opened up to the facility driveway, no there was no privacy unless shades were closed. The room was small and cramped. The photos and web description are very misleading.

The Ocean Echo Inn is in a great location — close to the beach, tucked in a quiet, safe-feeling neighborhood, and the proximity to ocean access is a huge plus. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the added A/C unit above the bed was a thoughtful touch that made for a restful night.

The space itself was nice, though a bit cramped — particularly the bathroom, which was awkwardly laid out. The storage cabinet behind the toilet juts out into your back, and the tight walls on either side made it physically uncomfortable to use, especially for guests on the larger side. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the so-called dog friendliness. While they charge over \$100 per night for two dogs, there is no designated pet area at all. Guests are expected to walk up and down a hill to a beach access road just to let their dogs relieve themselves. No blankets, pet sheets, or even a simple rug were provided for dogs — just cold, hard floors. For that price, some accommodation or care for pet comfort would be expected. There was also inconsistent signage about smoking rules. Room info said smoking was allowed on the front deck, but signs outside said no smoking on the premises. It wasn’t until I asked that I found out smokers are also directed to the beach access road — again, information that should be clearer upfront. The complimentary breakfast also fell short. Coffee was gone by 9:15 (though breakfast is listed until 10), and no staff were present for over 10 minutes. The oranges were sour, bagels were stale, and the small bowls weren’t even large enough to make oatmeal properly. Items like orange juice, eggs, and cream cheese were left out at room temp for what appeared to be the full duration — a food safety concern. Some basic improvements like a few fresh pastries, better fruit, and chilled items would go a long way.

Perfect location by the beach, excellent for a family with little kids

We stayed at the Beachcomber cottage (#6) which was very clean and spacious. It has an outside deck which is a perfect spot to enjoy the sun and for the little kids to run around and play. It is located very close to a little beach, which made it perfect for the kids enjoy the water/sand and comeback for snack and to go out again. The cottage had plenty of lighting through windows (which I really think is important) and the kitchen was also well equipped with all the basic gears that we needed. The breakfast was better than what we expected so that was a plus.

Heating system felt a little bit weak but turning it on in advance in the afternoon helped warming up the room in the evening and throughout the night.

The location was perfect. Walking distance to the beach. The property was beautiful. Unit 6 has its own patio which was very nice. The kitchen was a great size with all the amenities. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The second bedroom was very small. The bathroom was pretty tight for 5 people. I also wish the bathroom was more private. It felt like you were in the middle of the bedroom with just a slider door to separate. I didn't like how there wasn't a way to communicate with the office unless you walk up to the office. The location is in a neighborhood and one of the neighbors had band practice til 2am and we couldn't sleep. It was very loud.

It was a lovely cottage that suited our needs.

The property was very close to the sea and you could site on the community Deck and just relax. The cottage had everything a family could need , was clean nicely decorated and was ideal for our stay.

Super beach side location in cute cottage

Location next to a small bay beach, the cottages are self contained units which are warm and secure.

Units are a bit compact for 4 people, ok for 1 or 2 nights. But the sofa bed was not comfortable.

Coffee.. Terrible in both room coffee and breakfast room. I asked that my room be cleaned on 3rd day . I was told that it would be but it wasn't. Also lets be honest, the 50.00 pet fee per day is just pure profit and greed. with washable floors why the extra charge? My dog and I were certainly cleaner than most people
