Our stay at Aston Kona by the Sea was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our condo was clean and modern, beds comfortable, layout of room was nice, the balcony was private, spacious and very comfortable. The location was good and easy quick access to Kailua downtown area. The beach area was very nice with a really nice view and comfortable chairs and loungers. The ability to borrow beach chairs was nice also. Having towels to take to the beach was good. We liked the keyless entry and security (used a code). The pool areas was nice, we didn't use it much and the BBQ grills and area to cook in looked very nice, clean and modern. Everything was well maintained.
Would strongly consider staying here again on our next visit to the Big Island.
A bit pricey, but not outrageous. Would like to have more loungers with umbrellas available since we like to be able to limit our direct sun exposure at times. That said, We didn't have too much of a problem eventually getting a lounger and umbrella area.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The furniture was comfortable and loved the sandy area under the palms. Very quiet and covered parking.
I wish there had been more dining options to walk to. A better selection of snacks and some drinks on site would have been nice.

The view was absolutely spectacular! We loved being right on the water and hearing the sound of the waves from our room. The bed was comfortable, and the area was really quiet and peaceful at night. The room was clean despite it being old and there was lots of storage in the bathrooms. The kitchen had all the tools you would need, plus a newer and very clean fridge. The pool and beach area were lovely and kept very clean by the staff.
Our room was very dated, including a disintegrating ottoman in the living room. You could not turn on the bathroom lights without the fans running extremely loud. . We were charged a $25 amenity fee - we are still not sure what this was to cover. There was no beach towel service, no gym, no service at all on site. We had to wash our own towels and we had to ask each day for a packet of coffee. There was no housekeeping, no amenities on the property- no gym, no where to buy a coffee, and to add insult to injury a $129 cleaning fee. We usually go to Maui where we receive purified water in the room, plus a week’s worth of coffee and other kitchen staples, as well as daily pool/beach towel service.
