Outrageously expensive one night stay

I would not have chosen a king bed and a jakuzi, but booking.com said that that was the only room available. The floor had a few small plastic pieces on it. Otherwise, it was very clean. 5 pillows would have been better than 4. The price?? Outrageously expensive!

Other than what’s mentioned above, we enjoyed our time.

The property is located on a main thoroughfare with lots of restaurants and shops.

In our room, the shower curtain was too short and therefore could not close all the way, no grab bars in the tub and no slip resistant shower. Also, the toilet seat was broken and kept slipping, my husband fixed it once, but it kept slipping. When you don’t pay attention to the small things, they become bigger things and properties become run down. Finally, make sure the hot breakfast items stay hot.

Clean, everyone was nice, location was close to our venue.

No shower mat, was supposed to ask for one and nowhere did I see or hear that. My granddaughter who is 10 fell really hard in the shower and knocked the wind out of her. I was so concerned about cracked ribs. A shower mat would have prevented this. Showers were soooo slick.

I wouldn’t stay again, because of the facility, the employees were excellent though.

The first thing you notice is the whole building smells of mildew and pool chemicals. I’m not sure which was worse, they were mixed together. Every item of clean clothing in my suitcase, and my suitcase itself, came home with that odor. Our door to our room was either hanging crooked or the lock itself was sticking… not sure which it was but it took both of us ramming the door at the same time to get it open every time we left the room and came back. Not a peaceful/ quiet room, could hear the herd of elephants stomping overhead until at least 2am. Just not worth $150 for a few hours of sleep, I’m sorry.

Nice but stop being stingy

It’s convenient

This cleaning the room every three days is ridiculous. The tub was stupid slippery but if I wanted a mat I had to ask for one. If I needed new towels I had to go get them. Just clean the room and give me towels everyday. Give me a tub mat if you know I’m going to fall in the tub.

Don't stay here

The room was not clean. Reese's peanut butter cup opened on the floor by the heating/AC unit, garbage in the can in the bathroom, broken away calk around jacuzzi tub, water damage above Jacuzzi, ripped screen in window, hair and dust around jacuzzi and bathroom tub and soap dispenser in shower leaking down into the tub. The manager was rude and said nothing was wrong and I would not get a refund even though I refused to stay and refused to take my key cards because she stated I could not check right back out. I did leave the key cards on the counter and called booking's customer service and was 100% reimbursed.

Quite all right for a stop on our way from South Dakota to Washington D.C. Standard Hotel, well organized. Breakfast better than average.

The staff was extremely nice. I got the jacuzzi room, the water was very hot, the jets worked great! They offered me a bath mat for inside and outside the jacuzzi which was very thoughtful.

The room itself was clean, the sheets and towels, but the carpets both inside the room and in the hallway need a good cleaning, unfortunately this made the place seem dirty. They obviously have an issue with the pool because the entire hotel smelled like chlorine and the pool water was sudsy. The breakfast was tasty but limited, I have been to many hotel breakfast buffets, this one had eggs and sausage but no hash browns...yogurt but no granola to put in it...a basket of apples but no other fruit offered....no pastries or muffins or breakfast bars....it was fine but it just seemed like they had the bare minimum

When we asked to have burned out light bulbs replaced in the bathroom, the work was done immediately.

I checked in around 7;15 pm. At 12:18 AM -- literally in the middle of the night -- I got an automated text saying "once you settle in, please reply if we can assist you in anyway ..." THIS DISTURBED OUR SLEEP. The owner was very kind and apologetic when I spoke to her the next day; she said it is an automated text that the local hotel does not have control over. Why did it take 5 hours for such a message to be sent? Efforts should be made to address such issues. I shall try to remember to set my phone on silence next time I stay there. And I will stay there again. The staff is very responsive.

College Visit for Valpo

It was a clean, inviting environment. The pool was nice and breakfast was adequate. We were there for a college day at Valpo and the manager gave us a card with her name on it and the instruction to contact them for a student parent discount when needing to stay for an activity.

I was not a fan of the fact that we had to go request an actual blanket. I will know in the future that I need to bring my own blankets that will provide the weight and warmth needed for me to be able to sleep better.

I was highly disappointed with my two recent stays. I am really surprised that it has a high rating. The front desk attendants were so unfriendly and discourteous. Don't expect to be treated with respect. Wifi signal is ridiculously weak. The "Free Hot Breakfast" contains only scrambled eggs. It is not worth the price.
