About this house rental
Year after year people return to Cornwall for the beautiful sandy beaches, idyllic coastal towns, stunning scenery and fine local food. More than any other town in Cornwall, St. Ives boasts all of those treasures and more. Within walking distance of Bay View are four beautiful golden beaches looking out onto azure blue water. A long time favourite with artists St. Ives is home to the Tate Gallery and many smaller galleries. The train station at St. Ives links with the mainline at St. Erth but many will make the journey to experience the stunning coastal scenery along the line. In town there is an excellent selection of restaurants and pubs offering superb local cuisine and foods for all tastes and budgets. Stretching out from St. Ives you can walk for miles along the Coastal Path. So if you want to enjoy all that St. Ives has to offer there is no need to move your car. Bay view is located in a quiet residential location just 10 minutes walk from the main town and beaches. If you are feeling lazy you can always take the small town bus which stops just outside. Next door to Bay View is a very well stocked local store for all your provisions. The nearest large supermarket (Tesco) is on the outskirts of town a few minutes drive away. Bay View has been designed as an upside down house (bedrooms downstairs, living accommodation upstairs) to take in the views of the ocean and provide a wonderful open plan social space, incorporating kitchen, lounge, dining and kids corner, a room where everyone can be together and enjoy the ambience of this special space. With vaulted ceiling, exposed beams windows to three sides and 8 remote controlled Velux windows the room is light and inviting. When the sun goes down the Lutro remote control lighting system creates the mood you choose for your evening’s entertainment.
Front drive with parking for two cars (one blocks the other in). Pod Point 3S 7kw car charger with universal Type 2 untethered socket. Please bring your own charging cable (and adaptor if needed).

The house is beautiful. It was very clean and exactly as described. Onsite parking is essential in St Ives as car parks get full very quickly, It is a hill down to the beach but you quickly get used to the short walk.

Warm, light and clean. We really enjoyed the living/dining/kitchen upstairs. Even on a wet day it was bright and cosy. The ensuite bathroom was really clean and had a great shower with good pressure.

We were very pleased when we arrived, everything was ready for us, communication from the owners was brilliant, and the house is truly lovely! Bedrooms are downstairs with an open plan living room upstairs which caters for all your needs. One word of warning - the hill down to the town is quite steep, however after walking down we had no problem finding a taxi to take us back which only cos about 5. Would definitely book again if we return to St Ives

Everything about this VRBO was perfect for our needs. For us, the ability to easily park our rental car was paramount. Views of the Bay, ample space, access to a functional kitchen, whirlpool tub, proximity to a convenience store, short walk to downtown, washer/dryer, hairdryer, and a beautiful selection of local prints all combined to make this our best VRBO experience ever.

The weather was not so good but having such a wonderful place to stay more than made up for that. The walk into St Ives took about 15 minutes and even up and the down steep paths my sister managed it with a replacement knee. Would definitely recommend property and location to others.

needed a rental property for our stay whilst in St Ives for a family wedding. So glad I found this property. Spotlessly clean & so big the pictures don't really do the property justice. Ideally situated to walk down into St Ives (about 10 mins) but must admit we were a bit lazy & did get taxis back up the hill. Good communication with owners will definitely recommend & hopefully visit again soon

Thank you for the "loan" of your house which we found to be well equipped, comfortable and which became our "home" for three nights in early March 2024.
The youngest of our group was 10 months old and just walking. A stairgate at the top of the stairs would have been helpful, but we improvised.
Her 2 year old big brother loved the space.
We achieved our aim and the almost continuous rain cannot be blamed on the house or our hosts. Thankyou

Visited with friends in November. The property is amazing. Lovely layout and excellent inside and out. A short walk from the centre (downhill) so made use of the great taxi service to head back uphill at the end of each day! Everything was seemless from start to finish & communication was excellent. I would definitely recommend this property and would certainly stay here again.

Everything a family could need for a stay in st Ives. House was immaculate. Washing machine and dryer very handy. Good to have the spar right next door. Beach and town only a short walk but down a very steep hill but in the summer the buses go all the time so we didn’t have to climb back up the hill

Lovely stay in St Ives with the family August 2023, the property was perfect for us and we did spend 3 nights eating in after full days on the beach which were made very relaxing by the open plan upstairs layout of bayview. Would 100% recommend the property.

We all loved our week at Bay View, a light and spacious house, tastefully decorated. The artwork on the walls and soft furnishings created a cosy ambience. The upstairs open plan living area and contemporary kitchen had plenty of room for everyone. And the whole house was spotlessly clean and in pristine condition. We couldn’t fault it.

This property had every amenity for our stay in St Ives for a family wedding which meant we could travel packed light. Comfy beds , very clean , spacious and well equipped . The owners really have thought of everything . Ideal to be located next to the shop. We would highly recommend this to friends and family and will no doubt return ourselves in the future.

We stayed for five days we knew where the property was so there were no surprises, until we arrived the upside down house as the grandchildren called it was jaw dropping the light and airy lounge diner kitchen area was vast, with great skylights that made it seem like you were outdoors they were open all the time we were in as the weather was smashing. The bedrooms were large with adequate storage for clothes. The bathrooms were large and again the grandchildren loved the spa bath in the main bathroom. All in all a great property. If you can’t manage the hill there is a bus service passing the door although we did not use it.

The house is absolutely beautiful. The location is awesome. VERY close to the shore with absolutely gorgeous view of Swanpool Lake and the beach. There is nice restaurant and outdoor cafe 100 to 250 yards away. Also a beautiful paved coastal trail into the Falmouth harbor and another Coastal pathway trail the other direction, The house was clean and spacious. Quiet area and host provided fresh flowers, bread and breakfast scones. We absolutely recommend staying at the house.

The house is lovely, and has views of the sea from the upstairs. Its very spacious and has everything you could need for a home from home self catering holiday. It is close to beach and harbour of St Ives only 15 minute walk. Was uphill on the way back which kept us fit, but not suitable for everyone. The shop next door is very handy but the front bedrooms do suffer from noise early in the morning. Overall though we had a lovely time and would definately recommend a stay.

A mere 10 minutes away from the beach and 15 or less to the town, this house is a great to stay. With modern features and cosy additions you feel very much at home already. The property is based on top of a hill so preferably for those with strong legs… if not the taxis services are cheap but may be fully booked at times so decide wisely. Very much would recommend.

Such lovely accommodation to rent! As a family it was great to find somewhere suitable for all of of us to be together for the weekend. 6 adults and 1 baby.
The house was lovely and warm when we arrived, everything was beautifully presented, there was a high chair and cot to use, the bedding was great quality, comfy beds! Parking space outside for 2 cars and we had 2 larger style cars.
The large open space upstairs meant we we could all be together at all times. I could have easily slept on the sofas they were so comfy!
The kitchen was well equipped and the bonus of a utility room!
The area was quiet, probably different in the summer, the bus literally stops outside the door if you don't fancy the walk back up the hill!
Spar shop right next door was very handy but not good for buying extra treats!
We didn't get to sit outside as the weather was pretty rubbish and going through the bedrooms to get ther might be challenging at times.
But we loved it and will be back again.

We had the best stay at Bay View. The house is lovely and was clean and tidy. It felt like home away from home with everything you need and more. The location is superb. Michael and Eileen are the best hosts and we will definitely stay in Bay View again whenever we go back to St. Ives.

This property is certainly worthy of a stay and for us, great value for money as the home was certainly large enough for us as a couple plus 2 other adults and a baby. The interior is well maintained although a little dated in places. Outside space is lacking in terms of immediate scenery and greenery, but the owners have used the space as wisely as possible. A short walking trip into town with a slightly longer uphill return … good for the heart!

3 friends from Australia stayed here for 10 days using it as a base to do 9 day walks along the SW Coast Path - couldn’t have been better. Great place - spacious, clean, all amenities. And while a bit of a walk back from centre of St Ives it was not onerous and let us walk off all the good food and drink available. Highly recommended.
