La Quinta by Wyndham Fairbanks Airport

LaQuinta Inn is located right near the Fairbanks airport. Still, we were not aware of any jet noise during our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was pretty much what you would expect from a hotel continental breakfast. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The inn is located just up the street from the Riverboat Discovery. It's easy walking distance, but one of our party had a heart attack last year and we were concerned about him walking that distance. The hotel offered to have their shuttle driver carry us down to the riverboat. We did decide to walk, but really appreciated the offer.

The only difficulty was the lack of floor space in the room. My wife and I each had a full size suitcase, and the beds were really the only places we could open them. But of course, you can't have a suitcase on your bed when you're trying to sleep. My wife found enough room to open hers on the floor, but I had to move the chair away from the desk to make room under the desk to open mine. A minor inconvenience, but worth noting if you need a lot of floor space.

Winston at the front desk managed a last minute stay with ease and set us up in a room that exceeded our expectation. Admittedly, we are not used to the La Quinta brand, but this property looks newly renovated though staff said it was last renovated in 2016.

The breakfast was familiar and mediocre, but on par with competitors like Courtyard. And free.

The nice man that was running breakfast was awesome! He really went above and beyond making sure everyone had what they needed.

Check in-,we got in really late and on the phone had asked for sheets and blankets for the sofa bed before arrival and that took awhile to be provided.

We arrived without reservations around 8:00 pm. during a snowstorm, and were happy to find a room. The staff/ desk manager wasn't friendly and accommodating, and we were told breakfast would be between 6:30 and 9:00. The next morning my wife and I went to breakfast to find a small room, a couple tables, individual boxes of Shredded Wheat, a half dozen small cups of yogurt, no milk, toast, jelly, eggs etc. and a coffee machine that partially worked. On the positive side, the price was reasonable for the stay.
