Good Value 4 Money. Good Spot 2 watch Fireworks

It had good location opposite the best spot to view fireworks @ 10:00 PM. A beautiful 15 mints walking distance to rainbow bridge. Lobby/kitchen area is quiet & pleasant. Loved that its not a party hostel. Big dorm room wiz sufficient "old style" bathroom. Not the best dorm beds though :) Good Value for money.

Great location with bare bones facility.

Great location, kitchen and dining area with coffee every morning. Guy at front desk was friendly enough but seemed put off when I got there earlier than I thought I would.

No bed privacy at all. My bunk was inches from the door opening to the room. Front desk is not staffed all day. It seems as though one guy runs the whole place. I think the bldg is mostly an apartment bldg.

Excellent location with comfy rooms

The location was amazing. It was only a 20 minute walk crossing the Rainbow Bridge to the US/Canada border. There were also close by shuttle stops for the free Niagara bus. Free parking on site was also a bonus. Room was very clean and comfy. Would definitely stay there again.

You have to check in by 7pm or else make arrangements ahead of time. That wasn't super obvious in the reservations. Just needs to be highlighted more to avoid issues.

Very pleasant stay in walking distance of the Falls

The room was large and spacious and included a big kitchen sink and nice views out the windows. The owner was friendly and very helpful in explaining how to get around, where to eat. It is right across the street from the aquarium and the river, so we could walk across the street and along the river to the Falls. The kitchen downstairs was well supplied with a coffee pot and coffee, microwave, refrigerator.

I didn't realize this was a hostel, so there's no coffee in the room. But the owner didn't mind us making coffee with our own pot in the room. And our room was private with a private bathroom and not on the same floor with the hostel guests, so that was fine.

I highly recommend Gorgeview Hostel.It has been my first adventure in a Hostel,I really did not know what to expect.Well it went above and beyond what I expected.It has been very comfortable and very clean and tidy.It has outstanding views and a short walk to The Falls.I love the unpretentious of staff and guest.A great way to explore all Niagara Falls and beyond.The premises are very well lit up and extremely Safe and Comfy.I will come back and highly recommend to all passing through.Thank you.D

Overall very nice & convenient

The location was perfect for an overnight to go to Artpark. The building is beautiful, and the room was very nice. It was clean, updated with plenty of space. Off-street parking was included.

The mattresses on the bunk beds were just okay, and the shower took quite a long time to get warm water.

I was skeptical cause hostels are not a walk in the park, but this place is definitely worth it. Comfy, wide, good AC and the host very nice. There’s a kitchen and dining room area. And it has an amazing location close to everything. This place is THE place.

Very bad experience

It’s walkable to falls

The owner was extremely unprofessional and unresponsive. The property lacked even basic amenities such as soap, towels, and bathroom mats. The building itself was quite old and poorly maintained, and the staff were also notably rude.

Avoid This Property – Dishonest Owner, Misleading Policies, and Disrespectful Attitude

Location

The owner is blatantly dishonest. After confirming a non-refundable booking, I received a message stating that a late check-in would incur a $20 fee — a condition not mentioned anywhere in the House Rules or booking terms. If there’s an extra fee, why isn’t it disclosed upfront? I informed the owner two days in advance that my flight would land in Buffalo at 6:45 PM and that I’d head straight to the property. He replied expecting me by 8:30 PM. I kept updating him with my real-time ETA from the Uber app, which showed an arrival of 8:31 PM. When I got there — the place was locked, and the owner was out at dinner. I had to wait outside for 30 minutes. As for check-out: the property provides no option to store luggage after the 11 AM checkout. Yet, multiple reviews clearly mention that the owner had allowed guests to leave luggage in the past. When I asked for the same courtesy, I was rudely told “that’s no longer allowed” and that it was stated in the house policy — which is a complete lie, because it’s mentioned nowhere. If that policy has changed, why hasn’t it been updated in writing? The owner's hostility and arrogance were worse than the policy issues. He was dismissive, unhelpful, and even refused to answer basic questions. His attitude alone made the stay feel hostile and uncomfortable. About the room: Bed was extremely noisy, creaking loudly with the slightest movement. No fan in the room. The shelf that looked like a locker had no way to lock it . The only positive: the place was clean and in a good location

I traveled from Pittsburgh to Niagara Falls by car for a one-night stay and to do some sightseeing. I booked this dormitory because I thought it would do for one night. Unfortunately, there was a car accident on the highway, so I spent some time in traffic. When I arrived in Niagara Falls, there was no one at the dormitory. It was 7:11 p.m., and I was supposed to arrive at 7:00 p.m. I called the person in charge of check-in, and he told me that the accident was not his responsibility and that he was not going to help me, because I was late. He refused to come check me in but said he might be there later that night—or maybe not. Under these circumstances, I had to find alternative accommodations for that night. I ended up at the Sheraton, which cost $350 per night. I have to admit I'm not local, and I always say that Americans are friendly and helpful people. Unfortunately, this experience has left a black mark on my belief that this is indeed the case.

I had an awesome 6 days at the Gorge View Hostel. I will be returning in the future with my bestie so they can experience this wonderful place for themselves. I celebrated my birthday here and since the minute I arrived to this beautiful place, I was attended to by the owner, Jeff, who was very kind and courteous. A HUGE thank you to Jeff who made this trip very easy to enjoy not only did he help a struggling guest with her luggage but he was also very friendly, helpful and informative making it possible for someone like me who’s never traveled and suffers from anxiety to navigate the area successfully and stress free. This amazing hostel is a true gem. It’s clean, budget friendly and you just can’t beat the location and breathtaking views, you’d be crazy not to book a room in this place. You could even see the fireworks from Niagra on the front steps of this place. Definitely great times. It was a perfect blend of relaxation and meeting new people. I felt secure and well taken care of throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend it to solo travelers or anyone looking for a chill place to stay in the area. If you're someone who enjoys meeting other travelers and breathtaking views then it’s definitely a great choice.

Absolutely nothing and that’s why I’ll be booking again with Gorge View Hostel in the future. I can’t stress enough how beautiful it is here and so much fun. You can’t beat the hospitality.

Apart from the friendly staff, some recommendations, and a good location — there was absolutely nothing good about this place.

Very bad experience. The room was hot, it’s an old building, and there were cockroaches. No air conditioning, no TV, or any other extras. No toiletries in the shower, the water was only hot and barely dripping. The bed was squeaky and sleeping there was terrible. And then that cockroach in the morning… I don’t even want to think about what we might have brought back with us from there. Very bad — I do not recommend this place.

Owner is a nice guy but probably he has not seen what is hospitality so he is somewhat rigid for rules and regulations. I think that’s not his fault as that’s how he was raised. I suggested him to visit an Asian country to experiance what is hospitality (India or Thailand).

An accommodation with a soul

Nice, comfy, warm house. The first hostel in US for 4 month, where I could feel like home. The best sleep. Tip: if you come on Sunday you’d probably be alone in a whole room for 8 females ;) The man from reception was really nice, gave me a map and showed the best route to see Niagara Falls from US side.

You should keep in mind that there are no shower gel, hand soup or nothing like this. It was fine for me, but it can be important for someone

Great location. Walking distance from Niagara Falls. The manager was friendly.

No towel was provided. Went to ask someone at the front desk, but no one was there in the evening and even in the morning. Had to use my t-shirt as a towel. Wanted to say bye in the morning, but no one was there.
