Sanctuary Hotel New York

The staff were genuinely warm, approachable, and courteous, making us feel welcome from the start. They shared helpful tips on places to visit and dine, and the hotel had on-site restaurants we were excited to try, even if we didn't get the chance during our brief stay. Our room was spotless and thoughtfully stocked with a delightful selection of snacks and drinks. The only small issue was being right next to the elevator near a restaurant, which could get a bit loud when some lively guests passed by. Nonetheless, we enjoyed a peaceful and quiet overall stay. From our window, we had a view of a back alley that had a bit of a Gotham City vibe—something I personally didn't mind, though others might find it a bit less appealing. We’re already looking forward to returning soon, this time without the kids, so we can completely enjoy the hotel’s bar and restaurant. It’s a place we’d love to revisit!

From the moment I was greeted at the Front Door, to check-in, and check-out I received the remarkable service one would expect at a high-end boutique hotel. I had the smallest room-type, but it was well designed so it felt cozy, not cramped with cool furnishings and fixtures. I wish my stay was for pleasure, but I was just there to be near my next-day medical appointment. Had it been for fun, it would have been really fun visiting the roof-top restaurant and relaxing in the really hip lobby in the hotel, right in the middle of Mid-Town.

A lovely room with all the expected amenities. Great bid, ice products, yummy shower. Toilet area entry is surprisingly tiny, but OK. Pricey minibar but could make room for our own cold beverages and fruit. The “destination charge was a surprise, but mostly offset by enjoying dessert on the rooftop bar after dinner out. Very helpful door staff helped with luggage at arrival and departure. Parking was $55/day and a couple blocks away, but we were happy to have parking. Expensive breakfast on site, but coffee shops nearby for less expensive options. Overall very quiet and enjoyable place in midtown with transportation nearby.

This place might be fine if you book directly through them but they have been terrible. I booked a double bed room but was only provided with a single bed. My poor nephew is sleeping on the floor. Their only offer of assistance was to give us an extra blanket and pillow. Agoda has been terrible. There has been no assistance. The only answer I get is a “thank you for your patience “.
