Disgust or disappointment: The Hampton Inn & Suites is a letdown.

The nightmare experience began after patiently waiting in silence for 15+ minutes, while the front desk attendant ignored my presence, as he "searched for my reservation". I headed to my room with optimism that quickly vanished as I opened the door to my $180 room only to find it uninhabitable. There was hair on every surface, from the nightstands to the toilet\sink\counter\shower. The floors were not vacuumed. The tissue box in the bathroom had been through god only knows what, with the appearance of each tissue having been removed and then forcefully shoved back into the container in a giant wad\clump of indistinguishable paper. The toilet paper roll was half used, hanging lifelessly under the bathroom counter. The smell was akin to a basement fraught with mildew, accumulated dust, smoke and body odor. I promptly discussed the conditions with my fellow travelers and back we went, heavy with disappointment and disgust, to the front desk to request a refund. The front desk attendant, still unhappy to see guests, plainly told me that he would cancel the reservation and directed me to contact customer service through booking.com (which I had used to book the room). I inquired about confirmation of the cancellation, asking for an e-mail or a print out to verify the cancellation but he refused. I sheepishly resigned, and left to drive the three hours back home. After contacting customer service through booking.com, to resolve the matter, I was made aware that the Hampton Inn & Suites was disputing the cancellation and that my refund was effectively "in limbo" until the hotel can come to an agreement with Booking. As of this moment, I have spent $180 to step foot into a filthy room for all of 5 minutes.

Pleasant hotel with a pool

The pool was nice and our kids loved swimming. The breakfast staff was kind and our kids enjoyed the DIY waffles. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed the location.

The carpet wasn't very clean, and there weren't blankets or pillows for the fold-out couch in the King Suite. The housekeeping staff needs to clean under the fold-out couch.

The staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. The pool was a nice place to sit in the morning. There were plenty of towels and pillows, the room was clean, the bed comfortable.

The single-use plastic for the in-room coffee trays, plastic utensils and paper cups & plates at breakfast. Recycling bins at breakfast were marked but were clearly collecting mostly trash. Please improve your sustainability. There were no instructions for getting on the wi-fi (these could be included in the "digital guide"). I called the front desk for guidance. Our hall light fixture was missing its globe making the light extremely bright. It took us a few minutes to discover the closet behind the large mirror (this could be labeled). The window was hard to open and the black out curtains didn't completely cover the space, letting in cracks of light. The bath vanity and furniture were a little worn.

Horrible experience. Stay away from Hampton! I was promised a complimentary night because I was unhappy about something and I reminded them of their guarantee of customer satisfaction. They reneged and broke their promise. The property was noisy, walls and ceilings were paper thin and the location felt ghetto.

Disappointing that we had to go get towels as we were only given 2 left on a dusty shelf.

Only one flavor of yogurt. Butter was very hard-almost frozen so could not eat waffles. Bacon not cooked properly, greasy. Only 2 towels, no mat for floor when exiting shower. Dusty rack where towels were set upon. Exited room at noon, room was not made up when we returned late evening.

Biggest complaint is that we forgot a few clothes in the closet when we left. I filed a claim with charger back as directed. They indicated that items were found but two weeks later the hotel still has not contacted me about returning the items to us. I have tried calling several times and no one answers the phone or when I do get a person I am transferred to housekeeping and they don’t answer and their voicemail is full so I can’t leave a message. Very frustrating.

My stay for only one sleepless night was more than disapppointing.

Desk Service and level of cleanliness were great.

Room no 334. Water did NOT drain from bathroom sink. No bathmat was provided. After 10 PM there was a distinct CONTINUOUS noise from the outside area like band practice nearby or some similar source that created a repetitive base sound. It did not go away. There was a separate ticking/tapping type of noise from INSIDE in or from a wall interior. Both noises made it difficult to sleep. I have never encountered this type of situation in any of my numerous previous stays with Hampton Inn & Suites. I am highly disappointed.
