We have stayed at Springhill Suites several times and the staff have always been extremely helpful and friendly. I hope they are paid well for their efforts!
Nothing!

It was close to everything and clean felt safe
Pool needs to be bigger

Friendly staff
Mattresses were hands down the most uncomfortable mattresses I've slept on. I've slept in in low budget motels with better mattresses. Also bottom of the toilet seat was not clean

Chill, nice staff. Excellent location. Hot chocolate and coffee was good and available in lobbies. Layout of room was great.
Pool was frigid. Didn’t clean our room. We took the trash out ourselves. Breakfast was barely edible and needs to be better. After one bite, our kids wouldn’t eat anything at breakfast

The staff was friendly & attentive. The location of the hotel put us in a good position to walk to a fair amount of activities that are available to do while staying in downtown Louisville.
The parking was $20 per night, and you're not guaranteed a spot as a guest of the hotel. The limited parking availability forced us to Uber to get where we wanted to go in the evenings to ensure we didn't have to pay to park in a different nearby garage.

Everything was outstanding!!! I would recommend this location again.

2 issues with room. Bathroom fan never stopped (no way to turn it off) and bed was 6 inches from A/C, heater unit.

I liked the fact that it had hot breakfast every morning. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
There really wasn't anything that I didn't like. One thing that they could incorporate is safes in the rooms.

A few things need to be fixed. Like the sink stopper and toilet paper holder.

Location of the hotel was great. Walking distance to most everything you want to do downtown.
The lady who checked me in was really rude. The electors were disgusting and not clean, the hallways smelled terrible

I loved the location. But know where does it tell you that you have to leave a $500 deposit!!!!! That to me was ridiculous customer service. I completely understand keeping out the riff raff but my goodness!
The $500 deposit

How friendly everyone was and how close everything was to the hotel and how they offered event tickets to bars, food, etc. Will definitely be staying here again!

I liked the fact that there was covered parking available right at the facility. The breakfast was top notch and the breakfast manager came through and greeted us both mornings and made sure we had what we needed. The staff were all super friendly. The beds were pretty comfortable for hotel beds, I usually have a hard time getting comfortable in hotel beds but these didn’t bother me. I also appreciated having a second little sink and a toilet in a separate room from the rest of the bathroom area so you could still use the bathroom while someone else was showering or getting ready in the morning.
I didn’t really like the pillows on the bed because they were way too soft for me and there wasn’t any other options in our room. Also the lock for the bathroom toilet area didn’t actually latch the door closed. The tiny sink in the toilet room had a loose faucet and to me the faucet seemed too big for that small sink. On our last night there the light above the toilet started strobing off and on occasionally but was working fine when we got up the next morning. The toilet area also didn’t have an exhaust fan so it could get a little odorous in the room at times

We had a very short stay but the hotel was clean, bed was comfortable. We had enough room for 5 of us. The breakfast staff was so sweet and friendly. We had all the accommodations like extra bed linens there in the room. The kids enjoyed the pool. Location is pretty convenient to places we visited.
The only thing I didn’t like bit was out of anyone’s control was how loud the traffic was at night- loud motorcycles, sirens, etc.

Close to concert venue
Staff seemed grumpy
Hotel had issues with false fire alarms during our stay causing us to have to evacuate the building twice, once in the middle of the night (1:30 AM) and other time early in the morning at 6:30 AM

On site parking. Breakfast was good.
Needs updated. It was very hard to pull up the handle in the tub to turn the shower on. The tv remote needs replaced or maybe new batteries. Very small pillows on a king size bed. Refrigerator did not work. Information on the tv channel was outdated regarding pool times and the location of the ice machines.

Husband ate breakfast. It was satisfactory, but didn't have a many options as he hoped.

The room was nice. There was a seating area and desk between the entry and the beds area. The bathroom was divided into one room with full sink and large shower, the other had the toilet and a small sink(think of a train car bathroom, or about 5x the size of a airplane bathroom with the same sink). The good is that there are separate rooms for convenience(cont "the bathrooms" below). There is a fridge, a desk with retractable windows into the bed area, a modest closet, and impressive climate control. Breakfast is very good. Aside from being able to make a favorite of mine, the waffle, there was a great selection. Everything was fresh and the appropriate temperature. The coffee was great, in the room and at breakfast. And, the location was good for our travel needs. We needed the convention center, and it's only a couple blocks away.
*please note, just because the next section is longer, i leave out positives, which i expect from any hotel at this price range in this market.
(Continue re: the bathrooms)I'm in a wheelchair and this room was "accessible" so, the bad is the toilet room was extremely difficult for me to use, there is no fan, and the doors for both the shower and toilet are sliding barn doors that do not close in any manner that you have privacy. and need a bench or chair to use the shower with a modicum of safety. I don't travel with one for the same reason an able-bodied person wouldn't bring hangers and a foldable suitcase stand. A hotel that boasts being handicapped accessible should have those on hand. At check-in, they said there were no shower chairs down there, but she'd check with facilities. I said I'd use a pool chair if they couldn't find a true shower chair/bench. We checked in at 11 p.m., so i was fine with that. The next morning, i went to the front desk, and they had not located a chair. I said the same thing about the pool chair. She said she'd check if that was possible. I went to the pool, there were chairs and even a shower by the pool... no, i didn't use that shower. The soap would have caused someone to slip on the pool deck... about an hour later, she located a shower chair and got it to the room.
The fire alarm went off. Luckily, it was a false alarm, but my wife almost had a heart attack trying to find a place and way for me to evacuate. The overhead instructions didn't correspond with the instructions on the room or stairway doors, add in the stress and i was worried about her not getting out. But aside from the sirens going off inside the hotel, it seemed normal because the hotel is across the street from the siren repair shop that is open 24/7. It's actually a police substation.
A lot of this has to do with my being in a wheelchair. Two years ago, the review would have been different. I see things now from a different perspective.

Clean & downtown

2.0 / 10.0
kind and helpful staff
there was no restaurant on site
the hotel was unprepared to handle the capacity of visitors-ie no extra blankets and pillows were available
the room was not set up for the number of guests listed on our reservation (ie no sheets for pullout bed, not enough towels)
the beds were uncomfortable
the guests on our hall were rowdy and security had to be called after 1:00am

The location was convenient and easy to access.
We stayed for three nights. Housekeeping did not come in our room during our stay. We were given 2 towels the first night, then had to continue to ask for clean towels. The phone in the room did not work, so I had to go down to the front desk to ask for said towels. I was disappointed that housekeeping didn’t come to the room daily to remove trash, refresh towels & make the bed.
