Residence Inn Neptune at Gateway Center

The breakfast was good. I liked that there was a pool even though we didn't get the chance to use it during our stay due to our schedule and other things we had planned. The location is convenient as it is closeby to restaurants and shopping centers. All staff that we encountered were friendly.

The plumbing in the room could use some improvement. The toilet bubbles up when flushed and continues running for more than several minutes. When we entered our room after checking in we opened up the sofa bed and the mattress was all wet, and there was a sock left under the sofa from someone who previously stayed in the room. Before checking out on our last morning there, the temperature in the room was fairly warm and would not adjust to the set temperature (thermostat was set to 66 but room temperature was 71).

It was clean and quiet.

The breakfast was lacking. I made the waffles the first morning and the flavor of the waffle mix was artificial taste. There was high-fructose “maple” syrup and an awful strawberry “jelly” that looked like it was pie filling. I ate breakfast out after that. The lighting in the room was very dim. The kitchen was particularly bad. The bathroom was so dimly lit when the door was closed. Yet you had a very bright lighting my the bathroom sink. It was impossible to read on the couch after dark. The pool area was also dark. I swim laps but kept hitting my hands on the wall because I couldn’t see it because of the poor lighting. It would be nice to have a guest-accessible ice machine since the ice maker in the refrigerator did not work.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Will stay there again.

The place needs to be updated , the refrigerator in the room had broken shelves , the ice maker di not work.
