The location was great. Not right in the center of the tourist sights, but a short drive to all of them. There were restaurants nearby. And my kids loved the pool.

No complaints.

I liked the lush plants on the property and the plantation shades in the room.

The hotel was charging expensive prices on absolutely everything and very little was provided as a kindness. Only two bath towels in the room, no minibar snacks, $26 for one bagel and lox, $30 to park, no vanity kit, large bottles of shampoo and soap, $6 for a paper cup of coffee. Where is all the money going from guests? Not to our experience, that’s for sure. We arrived hungry from the beach with two little kids and were told that there was no food to purchase on site, that the restaurants were closed. Later I read that we could have had food at the pool or our rooms, but the front desk told us that nothing was available. I’m not sure if they were right. Who is extracting all the money and niceties from this guest experience? Management at the top? I didn’t like it. We felt like we were customers of a chain not guests of a nice hotel.

The GM upon check out, expressed concern about my feedback on our stay. I believe she took it to heart and offered to provide some accommodation on a future stay.

For the price the quality of the room was disappointing (broken light broken closet door, only 3 towels total);, maids trash bags in the hall, along with se real room service trays. We. were unable to get breakfast in restaurant, (staff said 20 -30 .is for service. Only one occupied table, many dirty tables. Referred to mall next door. ALL can probably be attributed to staff shortage

The hot tub was bigger than the usual sizes.

Parking fee OF $30.. Also, add on fees for adults, when we were a party of 2 adults and 2 teenage boys (16 and 14), THEY CHARGED ME AN EXTRA $40! SO, on top of the hotel fees at Booking.com, I got charged an extra $75+ (because of other small fees, taxes). Then, the GPS kept sending us to the wrong side of the hotel. Until we realized, it was behind one of the buildings. We called the front desk for directions and he had no clue on how to give directions to his place of work.

Location was perfect given all of the excursions we did were within 10-15 minutes of the hotel. Beaches/Down-town/etc.

The cost was a bit much being there for 7 nights. People seemed to have shorter stays (can't verify, just going off the different people seen at the pool each day), but it would have been nice to have a discount for a longer stay. Food/drink options are not even close to market values and deterred us from eating/drinking at the location.

The property was relaxing and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The pool was nice and the bed was comfortable.

The restaurant was really not good. I ordered a shrimp salad and it was not edible. I should have sent it back.

I was in a no planed memorial weekend, I book a room a this place due the close location to blacks beach, by I was a totally disaster in terms of cleanliness, the first impression of the room was everything clean and perfect , but a soon as I get closer, notice that on the closest bed sheets weren’t changed , it was stained with man’s sexual fluids, the second one , it was hair all over, so , I decided to do a housekeeping inspection dis my experience as a HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR AND MANAGER . This is what I found ! As a mentioned before, hair on the bed ( which is one of the 4 deadly sins of housekeeping) , semen stained sheets , hair in the bathroom ( an other of the 4th deadly sins ) , soap scum on the shower head and handle, carpet not vacuumed very well . They move us to a King room , which was inspected ,again , hair and dust all over the bathroom floor , soap scum on the shower head and handle , which was reported , again . So we decided to go in the pool , cuz the weather was not great for a beach day, there was a pool living area , again , debris all over the place ( understandable that guess are using the public areas ,children’s wit them , but the public area attendant don’t show anytime to maintain ) , plus , the bench were stained, who wants to seat on a stained cushions ? Jump to the jacuzzi and again , full of debris and three leaves . After all that , we decided to check out , Seriously.. a motel 6 , super 8 , or a 2 star hotel are cleaner then this luxury 5 stars hotel !

Perfect location, vicinity to MTS trolly station, UCSD, shopping centers, eating joints. Comfortable, neat & clean beds & linen, standard room facilities, room size was good, staff were super friendly , quick check in, great breakfast. Away from the hustle & bustle of downtown, yet very reachable from there. The aroma of fresh flowers in the air is magical

Only the price

The purpose of our trip was to visit UC San Diego. The university is walking distance from the hotel. Room was very spacious, extremely clean (very nice bathroom and toiletries) and bed/matress/pillows were wonderful after two long days with lots of walking. We would certainly stay here again!

The room size was fine.

It was a terrible stay for several reasons. 1. Even though we had paid for the breakfast included option, they gave us a breakfast voucher that included only one entree and they asked for tax and service charge on that additionally. 2. They had charged me additionally $45 for the third person in a 3 person room that we had booked and already paid for. Only when I pointed it out they removed the amount. 3. Our phone wasn't working. No one fixed it despite our complaint. 4. When I reached out to the reception they said they don't have a hotel manager or a supervisor. They are only present on weekdays and not on weekends. It was a terrible experience and we felt cheated. It has been one of my worst experiences on booking.com. the 8.2 rating was very misleading.

The location

Great hotel near the UCSD campus which was perfect for a college visit. Well landscaped. Rooms were large and clean. Full breakfast option. Could use a full length mirror as only mirror was the vanity. Parking was an additional $30/night which seemed an unnecessary add on.

The hotel is close to the Blue line MetroLink, UCSD, and a shopping center (Snooze restaurant, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Cava Greek restaurant, Ralphs, etc.)

My room, on the outside of the ground floor nearest the shopping center, was dark with a rather low ceiling and view of the parking lot. I could hear toilets flushing, cars playing loud music, and early morning trash collection. Also, the room still hadn't been cleaned by 5 pm. Guests were notified that housecleaning takes care of checked-out rooms first, but 5 pm seemed absurd/useless. Beware the extra $30/day to park. The MetroLink and busses are convenient, however. Any of the other buildings, and the second floor, would be better than lower level building 3.

Grounds and pool are beautiful. Rooms are clean and have very comfortable beds. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious. The staff was very kind and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

The only complaint is They have the old-fashioned wall aircondtioners/heaters. Just doesn't work like Central air and heat. One half of the room is cold and the other half too warm. Otherwise, the room was very nice.
