    I am a Diamond member with IHG and always had a great experience with IHG hotels. We booked 2 nights, 2 rooms for our girls trip to NY. (July 31-Aug 2) Location was excellent, check in staffs were wonderful and 1 room was ready early for us to drop off all of our luggages in the room before heading out. Madison Ave and Grand Central was only 2 blocks away. Since the breakfast was included we went down for breakfast. We asked the lady at the counter if she can heat up our breakfast sandwiches. I noticed the microwave behind her. She had a total attitude and rude and we can tell she didn't like heating up the sandwiches. Even handing us the coffee, was rude. At first I thought she must be having a bad morning. Day 2, came down for breakfast. Same lady, again not happy and we can tell she has an attitude again. When I asked if she can heat up the 2 sandwiches, she turned around, while heating it she said normally sandwiches aren't supposed to be heated. By this time, being Asian I felt she has something against Asians. All my friends noticed how rude she was. I know that we all can have bad days but you can't treat customers with a bad attitude! For that reason I will never stay at your hotel. There's other IHG hotels in the city.

    The walls are PAPER thin- above all that was the worse part. The shower wasn’t fully cleaned and a half drunk bottle of water was left in my room. I asked the front desk for dinner suggestions nearby and they said they didn’t know- that there was a Japanese restaurant nearby but didn’t know the name and couldn’t be bothered to look it up. Am pregnant and asked for a room away from elevator- she said she could accommodate but put me right next to the elevator anyways. The only breakfast is a way overpriced ($10 orange juice) coffee shop that is either unstaffed or incredibly slow. The only exception to this mediocre experience were the maintenance/cleaning people who were incredibly nice and went above and beyond to assist with my bags after seeing I was very pregnant despite being busy with other tasks. I travel to NY monthly and overall this one was unfortunately overpriced for the experience.
