Newport Beach Hotel

Night staff, Hunter, was extremely pleasant and helpful. Made sure we had everything we needed. Other staff not quite so friendly.

cleanliness - found toothpick inside the shower, earring jammed into wooden chair, overall "clean" expectations not up to standards, especially for the price. lighting on outside of facility not so good. second floor lights not adequate, didn't even stay on until you could get to your car. what you are really paying for is the beach location.

Great staff! Very pretty and cozy hotel. Snacks and coffee available all day in the lobby. It was quiet.

The location is my favorite thing about this hotel. The bed was comfortable and some of the staff were great.

No microwave or mini fridge. No coffee until 7am when I had an early excursion. No access to ice. My drinks were locked up so I couldn’t use them either. One staff member was terrible and rude. Facilities were really run down and needed facelift.

Great beachfront location next to numerous restaurants, bars, shopping, beach, the bay and beautiful views. Free bikes. Anything you can think of from a locals restaurant to fine dining is a few minute walk including boat rentals. It’s easy to take the Catalina Flyer for a day or overnight stay at the famous Catalina Island. I will definitely stay here again and again! The staff was great and very accommodating.

I wish I had stayed longer.

Location is perfect, facility is quaint and clean, staff were impeccable, very kind and helpful…we met friends at another “resort”, and all agreed we prefer the feel of Newport Beach Hotel. If you need the Olympic pool over the ocean, or valet over attentive and kind…go somewhere else. There’s a very impersonal, concrete jungle for $850/night right down the block. Shout out to Chris—front desk all-around good guy!!

A very large Roman tub that I had a moment of “eco-distress” over. I’m sure no one uses it!!

Parking was very cramped. Was told only cars able to park but everyone had large SUV's and it made getting into and out of parking spaces very difficult

We love the location of this hotel, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I like that it offers breakfast as well as coffee. The beach chairs and towels are a great bonus!!

The cleanliness of the bathroom/bathtub/floor in the bathroom could have been better. The jetted tub would have been nice to use, but it did not seem clean enough to enjoy. Room needed additional mirrors. Only 1 very small mirror to share in a very small room.

Friendly staff. Easy access to the beach, shops and restaurants. Hotel had everything we needed for the beach, they provided chairs, umbrellas, towels, bikes and even sunscreen!

Our room was a bit small but very cute, next time I’ll try to get one bigger.

We LOVED our stay at the Newport Beach Hotel!! Loved that it is literally right on the Beach! Perfect location to everything you need to walk around or bike to right on the boardwalk. The room was perfect for the 2 of us, clean and so cute! We loved that we could take the beach bikes, chairs, towels and other items to the beach with us!

Amazing location, very friendly and attentive staff, simple continental breakfast. Beach amenities including towels, chairs and umbrellas available were appreciated.

Rooms weren't very soundproof. Specifically doors opening and closing. Tight space in the room.

No elevator if you climb 18 stairs with your luggage don’t stay there. No one ask you if you need help, the guy who stays until seven the one night everyday I saw him he was on his phone 😵‍💫 the jacuzzi was broke only the right side worked, you tell us how wonderful the jacuzzi is looking forward to it and it does not work 😵‍💫 they don’t tell you the front room is right by the bar loud music until two am, and then outside is a sitting area and the last night a group of people sitting out there visiting, so loud until ten o’clock . 101 looks out into a parking lot the cars all day long and then comes night 😳 just saying if you want a peaceful night quiet 🤫 don’t stay there . And as much as the ocean view room is they could up grade their chairs for comfort . I will not stay there again . The front desk questionable, the day girl was okay but the afternoon girl and guy people skills class 101 x 10 . And put those darn phones away when you are working 😣 Housekeeping I believe I will give them a ten 😊

It was very close to the beach. They had a lot of free beach amenities as well as bicycles.

Not very clean. Not very modernized. No elevator. We had no refrigerator in our room. Shower was upgraded but not suitable for elderly as it was not a walk-in and the tub portion was higher than comfortable to step over. Lack of electrical outlets in the room. No convenient ice machines. Air Conditioner did not work correctly. Parking was a joke as they wanted to charge $30 per any portion of any day yet the lot did not have one space per room as you would assume and the beachfront lot was free from 6 pm to 8 am.

Close to everything! Beds were super comfortable and the staff was really nice!

They don’t come and freshen up your room. I’m sure they would have if we’d asked but we didn’t.

I love the fact that it’s right on the beach at the pier and the hotel decor matches perfectly. It’s an older hotel though it’s very comfortable, just be aware that there isn’t an elevator and all rooms are upstairs on second floor.

Only a small busy parking lot separated the hotel from the beautiful beach. The receptionist was very nice and the lobby was small but homey. Our room upstairs was comfortable, with a big jacuzzi bathtub.

The very busy parking lot in front of the hotel was distracting, but we were able to park our car in gated lot behind hotel.

It was a beautiful and cozy hotel. It was right in the beach and next to great restaurants. Loved the little getaway. The staff were kind and so helpful.

Definitely not as nice as the pictures would suggest, not super clean, had a small window but was completely covered in dirt and mostly behind a wall, super noisy and can hear everyone else in the hotel at all times, weird strong ?cleaning agent scent, backs onto / seems in part connected to a totally dilapidated apartment complex.

Excellent location - front door opens out to the beachfront. An array of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance but the bedroom is so well insulated you have no idea once indoors. Bicycles on hand to take full advantage of the extensive boardwalk along the beach. Just wonderful

Didn’t think the room was very clean. Shower was very old! Had pillows replaced as they smelt and pillow slips were dirty. Floors in room & public spaces were dirty. Area around guest coffee area was grubby, cloth was dirty.

Very spacious apartment. Comfortable bed and lots of storage space. Close to beach and restaurants/cafes.

Very noisy neighbourhood, particularly at night. We were woken up with noise from the street every night. The apartment was clean except for the floors which seemed to attract dirt. My socks were covered when I walked around in them.

Lovely little hotel right on the beach. The location couldn’t have been more perfect! It was great to have parking on site and a secured gated area. The hotel staff was very helpful and it was perfect to have everything we needed for the beach - towels, chairs, umbrellas, etc. There were also bikes to use for free. Very thoughtful water and snacks in the lobby and great spread of coffee and breakfast items in the morning. The room was a little small but that’s OK as we were not planning on spending much time in the room with such a gorgeous beach right out the front door.

We had a very small room with just one tiny window in it. The sheets and linens and towels and everything were lovely and of good quality - just wish the room was a little bigger and then everything would be perfect. Other than that, it was a great stay.
