Park Shore Waikiki

I loved the location away from many of the bigger resorts and right next to the zoo and park. Views of the beach and Diamond Head.

Rooms were smaller than photos looked, but that was okay we weren’t in the room much.

Location was amazing - right on the beach, near a lot of shops and restaurants. The surrounding area was really pretty and the beach lovely too. We had a corner room on the top floor and had a lovely view from our room over the zoo next door, mountains and ocean. The staff were also very lovely and accommodating. The ABC shop onsite was very handy, lots of souvenirs, pharmacuticals and snacks.

The food a Lulu's was average at best, it did the job but nothing to write home about. It gets very busy and we had to sit at the bar a few times. We were asked to leave a phone number and they would let us know when there was space for us, but being from the UK their texts didn't come through - this could use some thought and updating. Our room was clean but a few areas had been missed and were a little dusty - the bathroom had no window and the light was very dark and felt a bit dingy. The reception area was night bright and modern but the rooms could use an update.

Great location away from the busyness of central Waikiki, so you can have some peace during the day. You have amazing views of Diamond Head and the beach. I was in awe each day. Easy access to the beach and within walking distance down Waikiki - I almost walked everywhere. Lulu's had great food and you're connected directly with an ABC store. Reception staff were super lovely and answered all questions.

Room was very small. Soundproofing is needed. You're away from the busiest of Waikiki, but people will drive their cars around the corner like crazy and blast music at night... Interior including bathroom is a little outdated. Shower pressure could be better and a slipmat should be provided. The most shocking of all to me was that my room was not cleaned once throughout my 10 night stay...with the price I paid! The staff upon checkin did state housekeeping is every other day, but clearly they need better management/schedule keeping. The disappointment when I would return to my room after being out for a few hours whether morning or afternoon, or even out for the whole day, to not have my room cleaned... I had to ask for a towel change mid-week. The room trash cans are way too small. I had to use plastic bags or place extra trash on the floor. Not good if my room wasn't being cleaned obviously. I noticed people using the hallway trash cans since obviously the small ones fill up fast - I did too when I had more trash. I'm pretty sure the AC was in need of a fix as it was always freezing in the room. The TV remote also needed fixing, I had to press buttons multiple times and got lucky if it worked. And not to mention it had some stranger's name on the TV for my entire stay, instead of my own... Pigeons will land on your balcony and poop everywhere. Be careful if you leave clothes out to dry. Same if you leave the balcony door open, they will walk in and poop on your carpet. One of the curtains broke from a gust of wind while I had the balcony door open. You would need to provide the access code to the Wi-fi every time you came back to the hotel instead of automatically connecting. Definitely not what I was expecting for the price but you live and you learn. I'd better be using my money elsewhere upon my return to Oahu.
