The Cottages on Salt Spring Island

The dock area is too small for the number of properties.

It was quiet & peaceful. Very spacious

The kettle was broken. Had to ask for a second pot. Oven requires cleaning. The drain in the bottom bathroom very slow to empty. Swimming dock very small.

We really appreciated how thoughtfully the cottage was designed. Having the two bedrooms separated by the living room and kitchen provides a great deal of privacy, which we loved. The beds were extremely comfortable. Everything was organized in a practical and welcoming way. The setting is absolutely stunning. The lake is beautiful, and having complimentary access to the paddleboards and kayaks made our stay even more special—it was fantastic. Overall, this is a truly beautiful rental, and we would highly recommend it.

The kitchen was well equipped, with plenty of dishes, cookware, and utensils. Unfortunately, however, almost everything was dirty when we arrived. The plates, cutlery, and several kitchen items had clearly not been cleaned properly. We understand that this was most likely due to the previous guests rather than the staff. However, considering the price of the rental, we feel that checking the cleanliness of the kitchenware before new guests arrive should be a basic part of the housekeeping process. This was genuinely disappointing and was the only aspect of our stay that did not meet our expectations. We weren't expecting a full selection of condiments, but we had been told that salt and pepper would be provided. Unfortunately, there was only a small amount of fine table salt and no pepper. A couple of kitchen towels would also have been appreciated, as they would have made the kitchen much more practical to use.

We love the location of this property and have stayed two times before. It’s secluded and beautiful by the lake. The beds were comfortable and enjoyed the bath products included.

The property was looking very worn. The front steps need to be painted and the downstairs walk out wasn’t swept. Everything is dated and there was too much furniture crammed in the living room. No blankets available to use out on the deck. The electric kettle was broken and the kitchen table was wobbly. It was quite dusty and needed a good clean in the corners. Nothing major but feeling like it’s in need of some updates.
