This was a great place in a great location! The staff was very friendly. I will stay here again. I found street parking for my weekend in New York a block away. Apparently, it is easy to do in this area.

We stayed at a couple of hotels during our visit and this one was definitely tops! Loved the size of the room and the kitchenette. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would come back!

We booked a relatively last minute trip, about 3 weeks notice meeting a group of friends from all over the world in the city for a premiere event. We had some trepidation booking through a third party, but the reviews and the price were very very right, and perfectly situated for where we needed to be. The staff at the beacon could not have been nicer, more accommodating or more helpful from check-in to to check out. We were upgraded to a two bed suite on arrival, free of charge. To be totally fair, we would have rather had a king bed, but no one says no to a suite instead of a studio, I figure? The room was immaculate, unbelievably spacious and comfortable, with fully equipped kitchenette, if an older hotel-typical bathroom. I don't usually stay in the upper west but the beacon will be on my list forever from this trip!

Gentleman at front desk couldn’t be bothered to check me in, acted annoyed, made faces and sighed dramatically when I couldn’t hear him. I brought it up to the other front desk staff, as she witnessed it, maybe he’s her manager? But she proceeded to lay in to me instead of help. I’ve stayed UWS at Lucerne and Belleclaire, they have wonderful polite staff and I will not return to Beacon.
