The view was amazing and the layout felt very fresh.The host was kind.

I didnt like that i couldn't deadbolt the door from the inside. the outside door you can lock, but the one that leads to the main house is locked but there isnt a bolt for the guest to lock from their side.

Quite simply, stunning.

Charles made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. The view from our room was incredible. The morning sunrise was exceptional as was the breakfast served by Charles on our balcony.

Very pleasant stay. It would have gotten 10 out of 10, if we hadn't had noisy neighbors.

The view was absolutely amazing. It doesn't get better than this. The rooms were very clean and everything one could need was available. We were running late for check-in, but the owner was very flexible and didn't mind we arrived shortly before 10pm. He was easy to communicate with.

The place has two units that are rented out. Unfortunately we were there at the same time as a family with smaller children, one of which was crying and screaming quite a bit. Usually we don't mind this (as we have kids ourselves), but the walls are far from sound proof and we were woken at 6am. Not something we were looking for while being on vacation. So if you prefer your peace and quiet, I'd wouldn't recommend this suite. Unless you book both units. ;-)

Welcoming host, outstanding views, needs modernisation

A warm welcome from the host. The room had a wrap around view of the bay. From the balcony we saw lots of birds and with binoculars we saw whales out in the ocean. The suite was clean.

The bed was slightly too soft. The coffee etc needs modernising. Our toilet was an adjoining door to the kitchen so you could hear the house. We go to bed early. Someone was talking very loudly and clanking pans and cupboard doors still at 11pm.

Absolutely stunning!

Absolutely stunning. The room is huge, with king size bed, 2 sitting chairs, a walk- in kitchenette (fridge, coffee maker, microwave, cutlery and plates etc everything you mightneed) and hanging space and a massive bathroom. Two sinks, bathtub and a shower that could fit 4 people!! Floor to ceiling glass windows look our over the water from Nanaimo and Pipers lagoon, full 180 degree views. The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. They even did a load of washing for us! The room has a digital lock so you know your stuff is safe. Incredibly quiet and relaxing. Got to spot a few whales off the balcony whilst enjoying home made delicious breakfast that was excellent value for only $10 pp. You need to have a car to get up to the house as it is high up but it's definitely worth it . We honestly felt like we were in luxury for the 2 nights. Fully recommend this wonderful accommodation to everyone. We would most definitely stay here again.

Fabulous apartment with the best views over to the mainland

This was our 2nd stay here and it’s was just as wonderful. We stayed for 8 nights in June 25 The view alone both day and night is incredible and is why we returned The apartment is very clean and comfortable with everything you need. Washing machine /dryer very handy The host Charles is very kind and we had no issues with privacy or noise ( the family live above the apartment) It’s a great base for exploring the middle part of the island but you definitely need a car

The view was just amazing. Wow! Breakfast was optional but we asked for it and it was excellent. Room was very spacious with a balcony looking out to sea. The host was so helpful.

The view was lovely.

People next door had to walk past our door to get to their accommodation. It was a very basic unit. The owner lived upstairs & had access through an internal door. Not ideal. It didn't have a lot of comforts & really was a steep drive to get there.

Spacious comfortable with stunning balcony views

Incredible views over the coast of nanaimo. Only stayed one night. Lots of space, big comfortable bed, large bathroom with 2 sinks. Plus an additional Small room with microwave, kettle coffee machine toaster etc.

It was part of a family home so it felt a little strange but our stay was short and we loved the room and the balcony. We had a car so being way up on the hillside wasn’t a problem for us.

Gibraltar Rock B&B far exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again.

The view was absolutely breathtaking. We were upgraded from a queen room to a suite, which was a very pleasant surprise. The suite was well appointed, the bed was super comfortable and the ice cubes in the freezer and pitcher of water in the fridge were nice touches. We were in an end suite so we had that added privacy. Our only regret was not being able to stay for longer. We would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a peaceful, stress free place to stay.

Fantastic one night stay with a beautiful view

We had a large apartment with a fully equipped kitchen. The view was stunning and we enjoyed a nice breakfast on the patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Check in and check out were easy and communication with the staff was great. We highly recommend staying here and will certainly stay here again in the future

Our host was super friendly and informative. The views were phenomenal! All the amenities were in good condition, with tea, coffee etc provided. Only stayed one night, but the bed was comfortable. Nice quiet stay, just what we needed.

We like the magnificent view and the spaciousness of the apartment. The host was particularly helpful, attentive and nice.

The definition of ‘it has location, location and location”.

This is location, location , location. What a view! The room was spacious with a large bathroom and a small area with microwave and utensils. OK to warm something up, but not for preparing a meal. There is access to a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The owners are nice and eager to help. We did not take the breakfast (at extra cost).

Nothing really. Just for planning purposes, you do need a car or take a taxi to get to the property. It is a significant climb from the nearest bus stop to the house.

The apartment is accessed via the lovely new balcony that runs the length of the building. The view is absolutely breathtaking. There are a couple of chairs and a table on the balcony so you can enjoy the view. There were a couple of deer in the garden when we arrived which was lovely. The sunrise was definitely worth getting up for, as advised by the very friendly host. Everything we needed was provided and the apartment was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and we did not hear any noise at all from the other apartment next door or from the host who lives upstairs. We had our own allocated parking space and we used the car to drive 10 mins to a restaurant in the evening. I would definitely want to stay here again if I was in this area, I highly recommend this property.

The view was lovely and the room seemed fine at first.

The room is in someone's messy house. Their child was sick with a terrible cough, which I now have. The person who opened the door did not speak a word of English, and I had to wait for another member of the family. The door had a lock code, but no way for me to lock from inside; in other words, anyone with the code could come in. My bed was uncomfortable and squeaky. There were two dirty coffee makers, neither of which I could use. The towels were stained, and the part of the deck with the gorgeous view, which I had been told was for my use while I was staying there was covered with towels they were drying in the morning, way before my checkout time. Very unprofessional and disappointing.
