Enjoyed my stay with IHG of Carlsbad

It is a great location and staff were friendly. Clean facilities for the most part. Nice breakfast offerings too.

Wish the beds were more comfortable, they were very firm mattresses. I was surprised at some of the rust happening in the bathroom too, especially considering all else was in good repair.

BED BUGS??? Stayed Tuesday, September 30th, over night. Reported possible bed bug bites Wednesday and was told they would have a team go inspect the room. I called them later that night and they said their team found nothing but they would call an exterminator to come check on Thursday and they would follow up with me Thursday with a report. I called Thursday night and was placed on hold for 15 minutes just to be told the report was in the managers office and to call Friday morning for the report. Friday morning I call at 08:30 and the lady at the front desk says she hasn’t heard anything about a bed bug report and the manager wasn’t in and to call back around 10:00. At this point, I’m just going to call an exterminator for my stuff because I’m tired of the run around from this location.

The breakfast was great along with the staff. It was very clean in the lobby.

The room on the first floor was at expectation as shown in the pictures. The bathroom door was on backwards. It felt like we got a bad room with the wood floor and some hole in wall room.

I called to cancel and AI would not let me cancel bargain purchase 2 week advance. (need PIN... no PIN on booking e mail to me) so I had to pay addtl $297 purchase for "night before res.... YOU WILL GIVE ME THAT MONEY PACK as I have reported it to my VISA. Booking is a bully, kill the AI

The receptionist seemed nice when I checked in.

This will be my last booking with booking.com. I paid $170 more than my friends who booked their rooms directly with the hotel the same day as I made my reservation. Booking.com did not price match when we attempted to address this. I was disappointed and embarrassed.

We liked the breakfast and the sink in the bathroom.

Our room wasn't clean properly. The refrigerator had hair in it. Also, there were hair in the sink, on the toilet, and throughout the bathroom. The jacuzzi was too small and the beach was too far.

I'm not going back

They offer to pick a room on first floor or second floor , we selected second floor and they put us on a room for a person with disabilities, they never inform us about it and we took it because we were tired and my husband just got discharged from the hospital, then later on we asked for an extra chair, we didn't get it. The room in general looked 'tired' the door in the shower look in need for a change. .

I have stayed here many times over the years. Since new management it seems as though they are trying to save money at the expense of the hotels past reputation.

The cinnamon rolls, which have been one of the biggest reasons I have returned l, were barely warm. The plates were smaller and the juice never seems to be a major concern anymore. The sheets smelled stale and when I called to tell them the water wasn't hot, the guy told me there was no maintenance person until 10. Now they charge for parking.

They changed the room but not much better, and the fridge was broken and leaking water. The breakfast didn't have as many selections and options like other Holiday inn hotels, the pancake machine was not working properly, one side of the the pancake was raw, i asked one of the employees about it stated it's ok. No small size milk or healthy yogurt for kids. The elevator was old and needs maintenance, the button didn't work properly and was stuck several times.
