Hôtel Manoir de l'Esplanade

Place is within walking distance of the Citadel and the attractions in old Iowan Quebec.

Room was small.

I think you have to know what you want in a hotel/accommodation experience, and for my husband and me, we weren't looking for bells and whistles. We wanted a great night's sleep in a place where we could walk to and from all the sights of Old Quebec. The hotel is perfectly located at the corner of Rue Saint-Louis which is the main street from which you can access most of the tourist sites like Dufferin Terrace, Hotel Chateau Frontenac, etc., and is lined with a variety of street side restaurants. We just loved our stay here. Our room was on the third floor and was a king deluxe room. More then once I remarked to my husband that I felt like I was in a bedroom, not a hotel room. That is how at ease we felt. The room was very well lit, which is not something I can say about most hotel rooms. And the bed was the MOST comfortable sleep I had all vacation! Maxime at the front desk was particularly helpful and friendly and Diana in the breakfast room was consistently pleasant and made us feel welcomed. We would highly recommend this hotel and we would easily return.

Perhaps more variety at breakfast would be appreciated, especially for guests staying more than 3 or 4 nights. Other guests have complained about the fact that the hotel insists on serving certain breakfast items, but honestly we found that to be a non-issue, and I'm sure it saves costs from people wasting food. There could be different options on different days though.

Room decent size, comfy and authentic. Location easy access to all local sightseeing. Parking a little complicated due to one way system and diversions

Nothing to dislike.

The location... The decor at front and dinning hall. Coffee at reception.. Lady Lilou.. Her way of attending guests.. Lady who do the rooms was a smiling charm.

The staff was too reserve at breakfast and counter except Lilou.. The sink was semi blocked, washroom door lock was not in order.. I stayed 3 nights under same condition.. I didn't ask anyone to help because of too reserve behaviors.. It needs a proper renovation.. Old looks are ok but uneven floor is not... Breakfast was compromised type.. Nothing salty all sweet except boiled eggs.. Bedroom slippers to be added as long as there are wooden floors.. our slippers noise.
