Auberge du Plateau

My 3 days 2 nights stay at Auberge du Plateau is somewhat heartwarming and magical. It was a very early winter late November in Montreal and snow has already started. The hostel is very cozy, artsy, classy and heartwarming. You have a nostalgic feel of Winter cabin in a classic French inn in the middle of the city. Checkin was fast and smooth and their closed by 10pm until the next morning. I booked a 2 nights stay at Agoda for a Double room with shared bathroom at just 90 sgd per night with breakfast to my surprise!!! I was booked at the 2nd floor and they don’t have elevator so if you have big luggage need to carry up the stairs. My room is at the corner with street view and the hotel is well heated. I loved the wooden flooring which adds a classic warm feels. My room is huge with a big clean Doube bed with 2 pillows and thick blanket. Heating is centralized so you don’t need to control it. Lighting is cozy and it has a big wardrobe and a study table with chair. Since I only have a shared bathroom they do have a sink and mirror inside the room. They don’t have kettle but you could get hot water in the kitchen downstairs only up till 10pm. Tap water in Montreal is drinkable but I take water from the kitchen dispenser or buy outside. Cups are also provided in the kitchen and they dont provide toiletries. I loved the simple breakfast they offer of Pancakes, Toast, Yoghurts, Oranges, Hard boiled eggs, Coffee. tea and lots of dressings and condiments. The dining/lounge area is so cool, spacious and cozy specially with the view of snow outside. Breakfast in Auberge is my favourite part of my stay. Wifi is also fast and stable but they dont have TV in the rooms. There are plenty of toilets and shower areas on each floor but the only hard part is the water knob for shower if u want hot water it has to be strong push to the left which is not ideal. Its actually an effort to get a hot shower here. However the friendly staff and excellent service is really admirable!!! My room is the one thing I wanted. I really felt im in a cabin in a winter wonderland during my stay at Auberge and I would recommend this place for those looking in Montreal!!! Thank you Auberge du Plateau Meric Beaucoup!!!

Breakfast is good and location is convenient. However breakfast is available from 8am, which is a bit late for those travelers who needs to leave early and kitchen is not 24 hours accessible

The reason I booked this hotel was the breakfast, which was definitely exaggerated by the bloggers who talked about it. I did not see a difference in the canned maple syrup they served. They also let some questionable people stay in their rooms. I did not feel comfortable leaving some of my things out. The lockers are very small. You can't put your bag inside them. On top of that, the staff were quite rude. You will feel the animosity if you're not from Quebec. I did not expect that from hostel staff.
