I like this hotel and I have been visiting San Diego and I have always stayed in the same hotel.

The room was very good and very clean. Bed was vey comfortable and spacious with great many free parking. I was not too keen on the breakfast but the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. All had smiles on their faces with positive attitude.

I was very disappointed to find that there are 2 hotels with the same name and this was definitely the wrong one. The bed was OK.

It was a mess. Very run down. The curtain was completely see-through. I had to hang a sheet over it for privacy. The room was pretty beat up. The jacuzzi had hazard tape around it. The coffee creamer in the room was completely stale. Hard as a rock. The food at the breakfast was so terrible I could not eat most of it. The oatmeal was like soup. The muffins were stale. The sausage was inedible. Coffee was cold. This whole place was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at and the price was ridiculous. I did not feel safe. No security.

The location was nice being close to the state park.

The staff and the other people staying there. The lady above us caused the staff of trying to steal her daughter and stood outside and smoked all the time even though it is a smoke free facility.

Strong smoke and chemical smell from dirty carpets. Not fit for a family stay.

The staff at the front desk was really nice.

Definitely not a place for children. We didn’t stay and couldn’t even get a refund. It smelled so bad, the carpets were old and dirty. As soon as we walked in my kids started coughing from the strong smoke and chemical smell. It was my son’s birthday so we were extremely disappointed, we left right away and went to another hotel. Wish I had taken pictures, but all we wanted to do was get our kids out of there.

The AC was not cooperating , we got a noise complaint at 6:30 pm , which I thought was ridiculous! I got called once for the noise and in that same phone call got threatened that they were gonna charge me a fee , even tho it was 6:30 pm

There was plenty of parking, and the breakfast area was very nice as well.

We loved our stay!

The front desk gentleman named Sergio was able to accommodate my family to a room on the first floor within very close distance of the parking and pool. Very helpful for a family with 4 little kids!

I think it can benefit from a second washer and dryer. Like a bigger laundry room with vending and change machines

We specifically rented the room with a kitchen, the room was not stocked at all, we specifically had to go to the front desk to ask for dishes and pots and pans. They came dirty and required a separate deposit. Also they request you bring it back to front desk upon checkout. Very inconvenient!! Also first time I asked they said they didn’t have any clean sets. They magically appeared when I tried to escalate to a manager. The breakfast was also not great, very low quality foods and little variety. No filtered water available anywhere on the property.

The Jacuzzi wasn’t working, I was not told until after I arrived and gave her my card to pay for the room. I had to pay full price for a hotel with a pet friendly room only when I do not have any pets. Had to walk across the street to use a jacuzzi which I could not get in either because their keys do not work, front desk could not figure out how to open it either. Sheets had hair on them and were uncomfortable, overall a bad stay and would love some kind of discount or compensation as a rewards member. (Also unsure what the rewards member program is good for since I did not get any discounts, points applied, or any resolution to better accommodate my stay after all the issues at the hotel)

Would not stay here again, ever. Terrible experience with rude staff and ridiculous noise levels.

Location was good, walkable to Carlsbad South state beach, room was spacious and clean.

Reception staff was incredibly rude. I called several days ahead of time to request an early check-in, which they said they couldn’t guarantee but would try their best to accommodate (totally understandable and reasonable). Upon arriving on a Monday, I referenced my prior phone call and again requested an early check in (young kids had been awake since 4:30am…). Receptionist said the room wasn’t available but to please come back at 1pm, there were only 2 of the room types we booked and both were occupied. Also reasonable - room was occupied and needed to be checked out of at 11am and cleaned. Returned at 1pm as specified and the receptionist then tells me that the room isn’t available yet because the previous occupant requested late checkout and the other room hadn’t been cleaned. At this point I’m pretty irritated - why would you tell me to come back at 1pm, then make absolutely no effort to clean the unoccupied room first so that I can check in early? I asked if there was anything she could do and she said “well I guess I can redirect the cleaning staff to do that room next” to which I said yes please, do that. Again don’t understand why she didn’t do that in the first place. At this point my toddlers are in full meltdown mode and we were finally able to check in around 2pm. Overall felt that staff member was rude, dismissive, and made no effort to accommodate us. Also, both nights that we were there, people were making SO much noise SO late at night including after the pool closed. A baseball team was jumping in the pool and shouting and singing and I had to call the front desk to get them to actually close the pool.

the breakfast was fine. Bed was comfy but the bathroom toilet was terrible.

We couldn't flush the toilet, it clogged up. went to front desk and ask for plunger and they said they don't have it. It made the room smell.. My son has to go out to use the toilet. They came to fix it when we check out.

Had a strong musty/smoke smell. Most importantly. Ice machine was not working. Mid summer? But the worst part was being told by staff that I was unable to have my room serviced due to house keeping shortage? I was told the trash could be taken out and that was about it. When I asked if they were serious. I was told house keeping had to be requested 24 hours ahead I hadn’t even been there’ for 24 hours as I checked in at 3pm the day before and I was requesting for housing keeping services at noon, then I was offered house keeping service on the day of my check out. . I completely understand the challenges being experienced around the state with certain circumstances going on. But for the price of the 2 night stay and the multiple challenges the hotel presented itself with I think telling not being able to provide house keeping services is absurd.

The location was perfect for what we were looking for.

The carpet was cleaned recently but it wasn’t dried properly so the room smelt really bad. We got in late because of a delayed flight and we were all the way up on the 3rd floor, so we just stayed. I think they just need to properly air out the room after cleaning the carpet. We could smell the cleaner they used but it handed dried properly. Our socks were moist. They had a great staff but they must have been short staffed because we also couldn’t check out with anyone. The front was locked up and I needed to leave the property by 6am to make it to the airport. The woman who was waiting outside the front desk said she was waiting since 4:30am for a staff member. I liked the area but I would likely not return to this location.

Nice location, a bit uncomfortable

The location was amazing! We were just down the road, walking distance for most, from the beach. We were also just minutes from Ralphs, which came in handy. The hotel is close to so many shops and fun things to do as a family. The breakfast was very nice and the staff in the breakfast room were kind and attentive. The kitchenette in the suite was very convenient and clean. We used the refrigerator and microwave, and we were very glad to have it.

When we arrived at our room, the first thing we noticed was the plastic/vinyl banquet style armless "couch" in the living room that literally could have come out of a Denny's. Very small and uncomfortable. That was the only seating option in the main room, other than 2 tall, backless bar stools. This was not a place that a family of 5 could hang out even for short periods of time. We all would just retreat to the bedrooms where we could sit "comfortably" on the beds...The kids room had two full beds, which was great, but the door wouldn't open all the way because one of the beds blocked it, so in order to get to the other side of the room, you had to step in and then close the door behind you :-) There were also no lighting options in the living room other than the pot lights in the ceiling (maybe nitpicky, I know) so it was all or nothing when you hit the switch. After showering, you had to wear shoes around the suite, or your feet would turn black...so no sitting on the floor either! The toilet in the main bedroom was not secured to the ground so every time it got bumped, or sat on, it had to be readjusted...So, while some things were clean, others were filthy or in disrepair....$1083 for 4 nights....I feel like I should be able to walk barefoot and sit with my whole family comfortably...

Decent stay for decent price

Great price for 3 beds. Beds were clean and comfortable.

Room wasn't vacuumed. The anti slip bath mats were both full of mold so we couldn't use them. Which was a shame because the bath tubs were slippery. My husband slip, but luckily not injured. The shower head also sprayed off to outside of the bath tub.

It is advertised as having a sofa bed. There was no sofa bed. The shower in the master bath did not turn on. We had to call the front desk to help. They said. “ yeah it’s a little tricky. “ The tub mat did not stick to the tub floor and my grandson fell!!!! The General Manager was supposed to call me about the fall my grandson had but I have not received a call yet.

This was a low class motel and I’m upset wasted I my money staying here.

There are frogs near the pool in their own pond , they were cute.

The breakfast was lacking, there was no daily room cleaning, the staff was grumpy, and there was no water/tea/coffee in the lobby. The kitchenette has zero utensils/ plates/ pots etc. so it’s useless to have a kitchen at all. The price paid was way out of line with the quality of this motel. This was not a hotel, I felt unsafe staying here and even saw a person being arrested in the parking lot one morning. I would not bring my family here.
