Finlandia Hotel Imatran Kylpylä Spa

The location is very good, the spa has lots of facilities and it was not crowded. The breakfast is great, well exceeded my expectations.

The hotel must not have been full, still we were given a little bit run down room. (The price we paid some two month ago was much higher then the current room rate.) The shades did not work, the bed was too soft.

The Spa area was excellent! Pools were super clean, cozy decoration. Especial mention to the lights in slow river pool. The amount of chlorine was just right, not irritating the eyes. The showers and locker room were super clean. Confortable, cozy, and fully equipped chalets!

The breakfast was not at the same level of the Spa. It could be improved.

The hotel had a very nice spa and possibilities for activities, such as bowling and versatile outdoor sports. The breakfast was also good.

Our stay was during a weekend in July and it was very crowded in the hotel and spa. So if you are expecting a nice and peaceful spa holiday, this would not be your choice, at least not during summer season. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant called Kastanja, where we first got a spoon covered with some berry jam (we were eating snails). The waiter also kept forgetting things.

The spa itself was okay. Not the best I've visited but there were plenty of options for pools and even a water slide. As an adult couple we were entertained by the spa for couple of hours. The location was easy to reach by a car and they had plenty of parking space, including EV chargers. The breakfast buffet was pretty decent. Free WiFi that worked fine. Really pretty area with lots of biking and hiking paths.

The place is showing its age in less gracious way. The spa was grimy and rusty in a lot of places, but it was nowhere as bad as the hotel rooms. Our 3rd floor room had seen some life and was like a trip down the memory lane of 80s hotel rooms. The air was stuffy, fortunately we could crack open a window. The bed was hard and not very comfortable. The bed had a tiny bed sheet on it that was instantly rolled into a bundle when I was turning all night thanks to the uncomfortable bed. The bed cover under the sheet was even rougher looking, with very unnerving stains. The bathroom was badly showing its age in various spots. In addition to pretty expensive room, they had the gall to ask for 7€ for the slippers and bathrobe with some kind of environmental protection narrative.
