Crab Cottage is the perfect venue for a family beach holiday in Sheringham.

Located on a quiet road in East Sheringham, it’s a three-minute walk to the beach, and a mere five minutes to Sheringham town centre – known for its old-fashioned seaside atmosphere and thriving independent shops, encompassing everything from traditional sweet shops to fish’n’chips, penny arcades, cafés, and even a working steam railway!

Crab Cottage has recently been redecorated, and we’ve done our best to think of everything you could wish for on your family holiday.

There is a small, enclosed garden at the back of the house with excellent sea views (and it’s sheltered – perfect for barbecues!), off-street parking for two cars, an open-plan living/dining area, and a separate kitchen. There’s even a gas fire and a few board games, making this a great choice for cosy winter breaks as well as summer holidays.

We had a lovely time at this property, ideally located - just minutes to the beach or the town with off road parking. Easy check in. Area was quiet,the house had lovely views of the sea. Very spacious with comfortable beds and lovely fresh bedding. I was concerned after seeing previous reviews about cleanliness but we found it to be very clean just need a bit of refreshing in some areas which probably gets done in low season.Nice to have enclosed garden for dog. Our only moan would be cleanliness of cutlery,plates, saucepans etc, had to wash some items before use but that’s probably down to previous guests. Overall we loved this accommodation and would definitely stay here again.

Location was fantastic and there was enough living space for a family of 5. Nice outdoor decking and conservatory added extra spaces. The house was just not incredibly clean and was a bit shabby in places. It needs a bit of time spent on it and a really good clean. We found a dog bone under a chair, one of the door locks to the bathroom kept falling off and there weren't really enough water glasses. We still very much enjoyed our stay though.

Good location, we walked into town. Lovely place to stay in, had everything we needed. Garden was good for our dog, and peaceful to sit in. Bed and sofas very comfortable. We hope to come again next year

Property is in a great location, good size but need of TLC & upgrade. Beds were comfy and the house is well equipped. The house had not been cleaned & beds were as last renters had left however, owner soon arranged clean bedding & cleaner came next day. I suspect this was a problem with the contracted company rather than the owner. The garden is overgrown & you can't see the sea from the decking - shame. Town centre is very close with lots of shops & eateries. Overall we had a lovely stay in Sheringham.

We love Sherringham having stayed nearby several times. Large detached house. Shower room and seperate bath room both with toilet (not clear on description). Good size secure garden for kids and dogs. Sea view upstairs. The children were all relaxed in the house as homely. By the pitch and putt, Beeston bump and steps to beach.Lovely sandy beach.

Great location, property needs some updating, gardens were over grown, garden furniture was unusable as it was covered with bird poo, green moss growing in the roof of the extension. Cold tap in the kitchen had no running water, having said this the location was central for town and Beach.

Excellent location. Large property but needs some TLC. Didn’t like having to clear up 2piles of dog poo in the garden that were from obviously large dogs on arrival. Clean and very functional. Suited us fine for the 3 days of our short stay.

We stayed for a short break by the sea and it was great. The property is spacious, clean and well equipped. It’s in a great location for the beach although it's a steep climb! It’s nice to be able to walk in to the town and not use the car all the time.

February half term is cold - on this occasion very cold but North Norfolk is stunning and a perfect time to visit! However, it was obvious when we arrived the property had not been rented in a while - no heating (it was 1 degree and -7 wind chill) and it was freezing! If you have guests coming at least put heating on the day before?!

The property was a bit unloved. No carpets anywhere, just felt cold. Mind the owner was very good, we struggled with the Tv and he got back to us, quickly and the problem got solved.

The location was good as was Sheringham. Not a good first impression when you arrive. Letter box cover missing hedges need cutting spilling over path path with brambles. Crab sign fading. Inside clean but needs some maintenance. Being 2 pensioners the first thing was that the banister at the top of the stairs which was coming away from the wall and was quite dangerous. The bedside light in the double room didn't work and the main light switch was by the door. If the nightlight on the landing was working it would have helped especially negotiating going to the bathroom at night. It had already been pointed out in the visitors book by someone earlier in the year that rain came in the conservatory roof which is not doing the wooden floor any good. Saying that despite the faults we enjoyed our stay in the cottage.

Beautiful property, could not fault it. Perect located for both the beach and the town. Having the drive to park on off the road at the front of the property was perfect. The cottage was clean and a good size for 3 adults and a child. I would highly recommend.

House was in a great location and detached which filled our critea. It was a bit shabby on closer inspection. Cobwebby/dirty windows/grubby old utensils/unmowed lawn and overgrown shrubs/trees. Cheaply put together with no hint of indulgence or luxury. We didn't think it was very good value for money (other than location) on balance with our stays in nicer accomodation in popular places such as Devon and Cornwall. There were no bath towels provided which could have been an oversight on our part on reading what was included. However, that information was not made crystal clear. I didn't want to rate the section regarding property manager as we did not need any assistance so it would be unfair to be negative there.

Easy access to Crab Cottage which was Light and Airy and very clean and pretty well equipped. Location is great with easy access to the East Promenade and a short walk to the town via the Promenade or via the roads. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Lovely house let down by lack of maintenance. It is a great house, comfortable beds, good furniture but our stay was totally marred by problems with windows either not shutting (not funny when bedroom window doesn't shut in a raging NW gale and is not properly secured) or windows not opening. "Handtowels provided" were one each for kitchen, bathroom & shower room so no personal handtowels for hygienic purposes. No dishes or cover for microwave use except cereal bowls which got extremely hot. Little in the way of cooking dishes. Really a great great shame as it could be a lovely place to stay even when the weather is poor. Easy walk to beach and town.

Location of the property is fabulous. Within walking distance of the beach snd amenities of Sheringham. Great to have parking at the property and appreciated the 'welcome pack" contents. Single beds in 2nd bedroom would benefit from better matresses as they are quite thin; and the property could do with a bit of decoration/cleaning up (especially in shower room - a bit of black mould). Kitchen well equipped. Overall we all had a great time, thank you.

Bed were terrible. Beware the bunk beds are very difficult to get into. Property need a lot of re-work and modernisation. My back is still aching after only sleeping on beds for 3 nights. Will not recommend at all.

The cottage was lovely well appointed. Cosy yet plenty of space. Host was responsive to our needs. We would definitely have booked again however the mattresses in twin room although probably fine for children were hard and uncomfortable. I found sleeping difficult. My friend in double room matress was fine. It was a real shame as we would have liked to come again and bring friends. Great for a family break.

We did have a really good time the location is excellent and we will probably book again. The only negative would be that both the front and back garden were overgrown and needed cutting back / mowing. Also the beds in the second bedroom had memory foam mattresses which made the bed hard and uncomfortable, there were only 2 of us sand we needed a room each so we put two mattresses on one bed which was much better. Apart from that a really nice property.

The property is everything it says in the details and more. We were there for a long weekend with members of our family, and other family members were in another cottage which was less than five minutes away. It was also very well priced. We will definitely try to use it again.
