About this apartment rental
Included with every stay is the Jetty Cottage - a private waterside retreat sitting where Waren Burn meets the tidal bay. It is the kind of place guests find themselves returning to throughout the stay: morning coffee, evening quiet, the bay opening out ahead. There is nothing quite like it on this stretch of coast.
The apartment itself is spacious and very well equipped, with three bedrooms sleeping up to six guests, two bathrooms and a large open-plan kitchen and living area that makes the most of the bay views. Three bedrooms are arranged entirely on the ground floor, with an enclosed decked area in the shared garden, bike storage in the private entrance lobby and free parking for up to three cars.
Bamburgh is 3 miles away - close enough for a morning visit with the afternoon still free. The village has one of England`s finest castle beaches, excellent restaurants and the free Grace Darling Museum. Just a few miles further is Seahouses and the Farne Islands boat trips. Holy Island is accessible by tidal causeway, 8 miles north. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are 17 miles south.
The skies above Waren Mill are exceptionally dark. On a clear night the Milky Way is visible from the grounds, and the area sits within Europe`s largest International Dark Sky Park - a particular draw for autumn and winter stays.
THE PROPERTY BREAKDOWN
Bay View sits within a historic mill building constructed on a slight slope. All accommodation - three bedrooms, two bathrooms, the living area and kitchen - is arranged on a single floor, with outstanding views across Budle Bay from the seaward side. Because of the slope, guests arriving at the seaward entrance pass through a private ground floor entrance lobby and up a short staircase to reach the apartment.
The rear car park entrance provides level access directly to the same floor, and a lift is also available via the Millhouse communal entrance for those who prefer to avoid the stairs entirely.

THE PROPERTY DETAILS
Bay View comfortably sleeps up to six guests across three ground-floor bedrooms. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and private ensuite with a walk-in rainfall shower and underfloor heating, while the second bedroom offers a further king-size bed and the third provides two single beds, making the property well suited to families and groups of friends alike. Both bathrooms benefit from underfloor heating.
The apartment combines contemporary comfort with the character of its historic mill setting. The large living area is the heart of the stay - directly overlooking Budle Bay, with views across the water towards Holy Island and a changing picture of light, tide and wildlife throughout the day. Wading birds and wildfowl are regularly visible from the window, and seals are seen on the bay throughout the year.
The Jetty Cottage is the property`s most distinctive feature. Sitting right at the water`s edge where Waren Burn meets the bay, it provides a private and quiet space with uninterrupted views across Budle Bay. Guests find themselves returning to it again and again - there is nowhere quite like it on this stretch of coast.
With two bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, USB charging points, hairdryers and wardrobes in all bedrooms, Bay View provides a comfortable and practical base without sacrificing any of the character that makes Waren Mill special. The private entrance lobby provides space to store bikes, making the property convenient for exploring the area`s cycle routes, and the enclosed decked area in the shared garden provides a sheltered spot to sit outside and take in the surroundings.

Bay View sits in the peaceful hamlet of Waren Mill, directly overlooking Budle Bay - a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and nationally important nature reserve. The tidal bay supports large numbers of wading birds and wildfowl throughout the year and is a recognised destination for birdwatchers, with seals regularly seen from the shore. The surrounding area is part of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with coastal walks, cycling routes and miles of open beach all within easy reach.
Bamburgh is just 3 miles away. The village is consistently ranked among the most desirable holiday destinations in England, with its famous castle, one of the finest sandy beaches on the northeast coast, independent restaurants, cafes and the free Grace Darling Museum. The Farne Islands are easily reached by boat from Seahouses, 5 miles south, with opportunities to see puffins, grey seals and some of the most important seabird colonies in the country.
Holy Island and Lindisfarne Castle are 8 miles north, accessible by tidal causeway - the crossing times add to the experience. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are 17 miles south. Chathill Station, with direct services to Newcastle and Edinburgh, is 7 miles away.
The skies above Waren Mill are exceptionally dark. Northumberland is home to Europe`s largest International Dark Sky Park, and the coastal location is well away from significant light pollution - stargazing on clear evenings is outstanding, and the Milky Way is visible from the grounds. This makes Bay View a particularly rewarding choice for autumn and winter breaks, when the off-season quiet of the coast adds another dimension to the stay.
