Town: Set within the south of Derbyshire, not far from the border into Staffordshire, is the charming village of Repton. A small settlement on the edge of the River Trent floodplain, Repton has a SPAR convenience shop, an Indian restaurant/takeaway and three excellent pubs. In the local area there are many lovely places to walk, including the Willington Wetlands Nature Reserve, Sledge Wood and Carvers Rocks. The National Trust's Calke Abbey makes a great day out, unusually showcasing what happens when a large stately home is left unrestored and in disrepair, with walled gardens and an orangery to explore, as well as finery and grandeur amidst the peeling paintwork, it's a unique day out. Staunton Harold Reservoirs is another beautiful location for walks, with Staunton Harold Sailing Club hosting events.
