This beautifully restored 1881 homestead sleeps up to 14, with sweeping coastal and hinterland views, a spectacular 20m pool, outdoor stone baths, fireplace and Japanese-inspired guest Pod. The space

Welcome to Aurora House, an extraordinary private estate perched high on St Helena Ridge, where sweeping hinterland views, beautiful interiors and complete seclusion come together just minutes from Byron Bay.

Set across 52 acres of rolling countryside, this beautifully restored 1881 homestead is a truly special place to gather with family and friends. Surrounded by nature and designed for long, relaxed days, Aurora House offers the feeling of a secluded country retreat while being just 10 minutes from the beaches, restaurants and energy of Byron Bay and 8 minutes from the charming village of Bangalow.

Sleeping up to 14 guests, the property combines the character and soul of the original homestead with considered contemporary design and luxurious finishes. Generous living spaces invite everyone to come together, while quiet corners throughout the estate provide plenty of opportunity to retreat, unwind and simply take in the surroundings.

At the heart of the property is the spectacular 20-metre swimming pool, framed by lush gardens and incredible views. Spend warm afternoons poolside, enjoy long lunches outdoors, or settle in with a glass of wine as the light changes across the hinterland.

Beautiful outdoor stone baths offer another place to slow down and soak beneath the open sky, while the fireplace makes Aurora House equally inviting during the cooler months.

Adding another unique element to the estate is the Japanese-inspired guest Pod — a peaceful, beautifully designed space that creates a sense of privacy within the larger property and makes Aurora House particularly suited to extended families and groups travelling together.

Mornings here are made for coffee overlooking the landscape, afternoons for swimming and exploring, and evenings for gathering around the table as the sun disappears behind the hills.

Despite its wonderfully secluded setting, some of the Northern Rivers' most loved destinations are within easy reach. Head into Byron for a morning swim at Wategos, wander the boutiques and cafés of Bangalow, explore nearby hinterland villages or simply stay exactly where you are and enjoy the rare luxury of having 52 private acres to yourselves.

Grand yet wonderfully relaxed, Aurora House is more than a place to stay. It is a destination in its own right — created for memorable holidays, milestone celebrations and time spent together in one of the most beautiful corners of the Byron Bay hinterland.

The homestead features four elegant bedrooms:

Master Suite: Four-poster queen bed with ensuite

Second Bedroom: Queen bed with views

Third Bedroom: Queen bed, powder room

Upstairs Loft: Two king singles + one queen bed

The Japanese-style Pod includes:

A private queen bedroom with ensuite and bath

Separate lounge with a pull-out double sofa bed
