About this house rental
We are Ginger & Gold Ltd, a family run corporate letting and serviced accommodation business who pride ourselves on offering the guest everything they need for an enjoyable stay whether it be for business or for pleasure.
We are very experienced and professional, the level of interaction is decided by you.
Any questions you may have, we pride ourselves in coming back to you within a short time - see our bio, social media pages or website to find out more!
You will be tucked well away from main roads, so there's barely any passing traffic. It's the kind of street where you can hear yourself think, yet you're 15 to 20 minutes on foot from the heart of Norwich.
The very local stuff is the real treat. Three minutes' walk brings you to a chip shop on Stafford Road that regulars will tell you is one of the best in Norwich, and we wouldn't argue.
For a pint, the Alexandra Tavern on Stafford Street is a proper traditional local under 5 minutes away, and the Black Horse on Earlham Road is on your doorstep for some of the best food locally.
Beer lovers should make the 8-10 min walk to the Fat Cat on Nelson Street, regularly named among the best pubs in the country, and it lives up to it.
When you head into the city, Norwich Castle and Norwich Cathedral are both within easy 15-20 min walking distance, along with the Lanes, the market and more independent cafés and restaurants than you'll fit into one stay. For more of our favourite local spots, have a look at the Ginger & Gold Blog.
Check-in & Access:
We create a digital house manual which gives you your pre-arrival and during-your-stay information in one handy digital link.
You’ll receive an email with your key box code and full check-in instructions at noon on the day of arrival. If you have any questions, we’re just a call or message away.
A small front courtyard filled with lavender greets you before you reach the door. In summer it smells wonderful.
Inside, the lounge is the heart of the house. A log burner takes centre stage, perfect for drawing the curtains and settling in on a winter evening. Comfortable, stylish seating and a 43-inch smart TV. Log into your own accounts, or watch live telly through Freely, which streams all the usual Freeview channels over the internet.
WiFi runs at a rapid 264 Mbps. Plenty for everyone streaming at once, and more than enough for video calls if you're working from here. Jenga and playing cards live in the lounge too, with more games arriving through 2026.
The kitchen is bright and sociable, with a dining table for four at its centre, so someone can keep the cook company. A stylish Smeg fridge freezer, cooker with electric hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. A Nespresso pod machine covers your morning coffee, and we provide tea, coffee, sugar and UHT milk for your arrival, so the first brew is sorted before you've unpacked.
Beyond the kitchen, a small porch leads three ways. To the downstairs bathroom with its bath and overhead shower. To a handy storage cupboard. And out to the patio and shingled garden with outside seating perfect for a glass of wine or brunch in the sun. The garden is fully secure, with a bolted gate to a lockable shared alley.
Before you head up, a word on the stairs. They're original Victorian, so steeper than modern ones. There's a handrail, but the layout means a stair gate can't be fitted, which is why we don't recommend this home for children under 12.
Upstairs, both bedrooms are larger than you'd expect from a terraced home, as they sit over an arch. Both have king-size beds and built-in wardrobes.
Both bedrooms have beautiful original wooden flooring. The front bedroom has a king-size bed with comfy hotel-style bedding side tables and lamps, fitted drawers, and a dressing table with mirror that doubles as a desk.
The back room also has a double bed, comfy bedding, side lamps, a large dressing mirror, and its own ensuite shower room with walk-in shower, sink and toilet.
All linen and towels are provided, hotel quality throughout.
The city centre is a 15 to 20 minute walk, and Norwich railway station is around 1.5 miles away, a 25 to 30 minute walk or a short taxi or bus ride if you're arriving with luggage.
If you're driving, St Andrews car park is a good option when heading into the city, and there's 2 hours free parking outside Home Bargains on Westwick Street, handy for a quick shop or drop-off.
Prefer two wheels? Beryl hire bikes are available at points close to the house, a fun alternative to walking or taxis for zipping into town.
