About this cottage rental
Tucked away in the picturesque South Devon countryside, just 5 miles from the historic Royal Navy town of Dartmouth, this charming retreat offers a lovely getaway to families and groups of friends planning Devonshire days out together. Before venturing out, make the most of the on-site facilities which include free access to a swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room, and hot tub – or enjoy a round of golf with reduced green fares. Further afield, Woodlands Family Theme Park (1 mile) is one of the region’s most popular family attractions with its many rides and activities. For a more relaxing day, the dramatic shores of Start Bay (5 miles) boast award-winning beaches, scenic walking trails, and plenty of places to eat and drink. Drive to famous Dartmouth, or choose from one of several river cruises before discovering the town’s top-rated seafood restaurants, art galleries, and traditional pubs.
In the months of May through to November why not attend one of the many local events, The Dartmouth Music Festival, Dartmouth Shakespeare Week, Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta and the Dartmouth Food Festival.
Enter at ground-floor level and be welcomed by the social heart of the home – the open-plan living space that combines a cosy lounge with a well-appointed kitchen and dining space. Here, underfloor heating awaits after days of outdoor adventures, as does the inviting lounge area with its comfy sofas arranged around a wood burner and Smart TV – perfect for group movie nights. On balmy days, open the patio doors up and fill the living space with fresh Devonshire air. When it’s time to retire for the night, three restful bedrooms are spread across the first and second floors. On the first floor, choose from two king-size zip-and-link bedrooms that convert to twins on request and boast en-suite shower rooms and TVs – one room offers a furnished balcony that overlooks the garden. Completing the interior is the second-floor king-size bedroom with its en-suite shower room, TV, and scenic balcony.
