About this house rental
Parkway Place sits high on a ridge outside Boone, where the mountains stack up in layers and run out toward Grandfather Mountain, Pilot Mountain, and — on a clear day — Tennessee and Virginia. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about five minutes away. Downtown Boone and Blowing Rock are each about ten. It is the rare mountain house that feels genuinely remote and is still close to everything.
THE GREAT ROOM
The heart of the house is a soaring great room under a tongue-and-groove wood ceiling, framed by peeled log posts and a two-story wall of windows that fills the space with mountain light. A wood-burning stove sits on a stacked stone hearth. There is room here for the whole group — deep sofas, two recliners, and a wide ottoman for feet and board games.
KITCHEN AND DINING
The kitchen runs on granite and stainless: wall oven, cooktop, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, and a center island with a prep sink and stools. Glass-front cabinets and a wrought-iron chandelier keep it warm rather than clinical. The dining table seats six, with French doors opening straight onto the deck.
THE DECK AND THE HOT TUB
The main deck is where this house earns its name. Cable railings keep the view unobstructed, an outdoor dining table seats six under a propane heater, and Adirondack chairs and a rail-height bar face west. A few steps down, the hot tub sits on a paver patio ringed by trees — the best seat in the house after a day on the slopes or the trail.
THE GAME ROOM
The lower level is built for weather days and late nights: a slate pool table, ping pong, foosball, darts, a card table, a media console stocked with games, and a TV. A glass garage door slides up to open the whole room to the mountain air. It has its own full bathroom, so nobody has to trek upstairs.
WHERE EVERYONE SLEEPS
Four sleeping areas across three levels. The main-level primary has a king, French doors to the deck, and an ensuite with heated tile floors, a corner whirlpool tub, and a glass corner shower. Upstairs, two more king bedrooms each open onto their own private balcony. The lower-level bunk room has a queen plus a twin-over-queen bunk — the kids' floor, right off the game room. Three full bathrooms. Sleeps 11.
GOOD TO KNOW
Central heat and air. Fast wifi and a laptop-friendly workspace. Washer and dryer on site. Parking for three vehicles. Self check-in by smart lock. AWD or 4WD is required in winter weather — the roads up here are steep. One exterior security camera covers the driveway, front porch, and the basement side door; there are no cameras inside. Streaming apps require your own accounts. This is a non-smoking home and pets are not permitted.
