Enjoy mountain views from the spacious wraparound deck, unwind in the hot tub, and gather around the stone fire pit at Good Medicine, a beautiful 5-bedroom log home with plenty of room for family and friends! Featuring multiple game spaces, a large, flat yard for your four-legged family members, and a prime location just 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and 12 minutes from downtown Boone, this inviting retreat is perfect for family vacations, App State game weekends, and High Country adventures in every season.
Thoughtfully furnished with high-quality finishes throughout, Good Medicine offers spacious, comfortable accommodations for the whole group. The main level features a fully stocked kitchen with a beautiful stone island, a dining area, and a welcoming living room with vaulted ceilings and a stacked-stone fireplace. The primary suite is also on this level, featuring a king bed and private bathroom with a tiled shower, jetted tub, and double vanities.
Upstairs, two additional bedrooms each offer a queen bed and share a full bathroom in the hallway. The spacious loft provides even more room to relax and play, with a queen sleeper sofa, shuffleboard table, and flat-screen TV. Each bedroom is thoughtfully equipped with comfortable mattresses, sound machines, and room-darkening blinds for a restful night's sleep.
The lower level is all about fun, with a lively game room featuring a 12-game arcade table, ping-pong table, comfortable seating, and a large mounted TV for movie nights and friendly competitions! Two additional bedrooms are located just off the den: one with a king bed and the other with full-over-full bunk beds. Both share a full bathroom featuring a beautiful tiled shower.
Step outside, and you may find your favorite spot at Good Medicine! The spacious wraparound deck offers plenty of room for everyone to spread out, with rocking chairs and comfortable seating overlooking the beautiful mountain scenery. Unwind in the brand-new hot tub, or gather around the stone fire pit for a relaxing evening under the stars. The large, flat yard provides plenty of room for your four-legged family members to stretch their legs and play, while dog gates on the porch offer added convenience for pet owners.
Good Medicine puts you close to some of the High Country's favorite outdoor destinations. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Mountains-to-Sea Trail, and Grandview Overlook are just 5 minutes away, while the nearest grocery store is only 6 minutes by car. Explore the trails at Rocky Knob Mountain Bike Park, just 4 miles away, enjoy a local brew at Booneshine Brewing Company (4.6 miles), or head to Pine Run Public Fishing Area (4.7 miles) for boating and fishing. Appalachian Ski Mountain is approximately 24 minutes away, making Good Medicine a wonderful home base in every season!

- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers.
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- This property is pet friendly for up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs.
- Please observe a quiet hour of 10PM as there are full time residents nearby.
- AWD or 4WD vehicles are required during winter months.
- Parking space for up to 5 vehicles.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.

Our family had a wonderful time staying at good medicine for Thanksgiving and my husbands 40th birthday. The house was just perfect for us and not too far from Boone and Blowing rock. Would definitely stay again!

The house is nice but upon arrival there was a sign on the dishwasher that said not to use it because it leaks. Would have been nice to know in advance (update the listing) as I am a single parent with the three kids and washing dishes was not in the plan.
After unpacking our stuff we started to notice piles of pet hair all over the place. Usually pet friendly homes do more extensive cleaning but that does not seem to be the case for this property.
Property management did respond back and offered to have someone clean it again and apologized about the dishwasher but we decided to just sweep up what we could and not go thru the hassle of storing our stuff, so they could clean again.
Otherwise the house is in decent shape and conveniently located near the parkway allowing for easy access to the major attractions.
An offer to extend check out time to counter the dishwasher issue would have been nice. We really had to hustle to get out by 10, as all the dishes had to be hand washed and put away according to the house rule book.
