Cottage gem with views of the Oslo Fjord

This 1940s cabin has been completely renovated by an architect and is beautifully situated with a view of the Oslo Fjord. Here, Scandinavian design and Japanese aesthetics come together in a unique harmony. The fireplace is adorned with handmade Japanese tiles, and large windows bring the outdoors into every room.



Inside, you’ll find off-white surfaces and furniture designed specifically for the cabin by Oslo Innredning. The space is filled with Norwegian design classics, Japanese lamps, and treasures from travels in Africa. The bathroom is inspired by Japanese bathing culture, featuring a custom-built ofuro bathtub shipped from Japan.



The cabin has several small gardens where you can follow the sun throughout the day. Large doors and windows allow you to open up the space and experience how the boundary between indoors and outdoors disappears. The pine trees surrounding the cabin create a calm and warm atmosphere that gives you the feeling of living in harmony with nature.



The coastal trail runs right outside and leads past old war memorials down to beaches you can have all to yourselves. Here you can walk along the water, take a dip along the way, or simply enjoy the view and the smell of the salt water. It’s a 15-minute drive to Drøbak.
