About this house rental
This stately Majorcan house from the late 18th century is located in the heart of the historic center of Muro and offers something unusual: staying in a home with more than two centuries of history, surrounded by a large garden and with beautiful views towards Sa Riba, the landscape of northern Mallorca and Alcúdia bay, while at the same time having the town square, restaurants, shops and services just a few minutes' walk away.
Son Idò was also the home of the renowned local painter Jordi Poquet, and part of his legacy continues to be present within its walls. During your stay, you will be able to contemplate some of his paintings, which still decorate different corners of the house and are part of the personality and history of the home.
Upon entering, you will discover a spacious, traditional home full of character. On the lower floor you will find the entrance, living room, and kitchen, spaces designed to enjoy the house comfortably.
The room has air conditioning, television and Wi-Fi connection. During the cooler months, the fireplace provides the warm and cozy atmosphere typical of old Majorcan houses.
The kitchen is fully equipped for everyday use and has an induction cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, air fryer, toaster, Nespresso coffee maker and filter coffee maker, as well as dishes, cutlery, utensils and all necessary kitchenware.
Next to this area you will find an indoor barbecue feature, fully operational, perfect for preparing a meal and enjoying long after-dinner conversations without leaving home.
For greater comfort, the rooms have ceiling fans and the house also has additional standing fans.
For longer stays, the house also has a laundry area with a washing machine and dryer.
Son Idò offers four bedrooms distributed between its two floors. On the lower floor there are three double bedrooms, while on the upper floor there is a double bedroom and a room with an auxiliary bed.
Regarding the bathrooms, two of the bedrooms have private space: one has an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and another has a private toilet. Additionally, on the lower floor there is an independent bathroom with a shower and on the upper floor an additional toilet.
One of the main protagonists of Son Idò is found abroad.
The property has approximately 4,000 m² of outdoor spaces, distributed between the spacious lower garden and the house's viewpoint area. A particularly unique setting considering its location in the heart of the historic center of Muro, with different corners where you can walk, rest among the vegetation or simply disconnect and enjoy the tranquility.
Among its different areas you will also find a beautiful pond with fish and frogs, which adds even more serenity and personality to the surroundings.
As night falls, the garden's lighting allows you to continue enjoying the outdoors and discover a completely different atmosphere under the Majorcan sky.
The terraces feature comfortable outdoor furniture, perfect for having breakfast outdoors, sharing a meal, or extending summer evenings. They will also have a chill-out area with hammocks, ideal for reading, having a drink, or simply relaxing while enjoying the surroundings.
The housing also features a private garage, an especially practical advantage given its location in the heart of the historic center.
And when you want to enjoy the Mediterranean, the beaches of Playa de Muro and Can Picafort are located approximately 15 minutes by car away, allowing you to easily combine the tranquility of the village with a day by the sea.
Before leaving, you will also find a small detail that is part of the spirit of the house: our guest book.
They will be able to write a few words about their stay, share an anecdote, leave a dedication or simply sign with their name and the date. This way, each guest will be able to leave their own mark and become part of the history of the house, along with the memories of those who were there before.
Son Idò is not simply a place to stay.
It is a house for those who wish to discover a more authentic Mallorca and experience it without haste: outdoor breakfasts, long meals lingering at the table, walks through the garden, beach afternoons and peaceful nights under the stars.
A stately residence with more than two centuries of history, where art, Mallorcan tradition and the Mediterranean come together to offer a different stay in Mallorca.
