Broadbeach is the quieter, better-fed end of the Gold Coast, and this apartment sits in the middle of it. Seventeen floors up in Avani Broadbeach Residences, the living room and balcony look out over the water, and almost everything you came for is a walk rather than a drive: the shopping centre in five minutes, the Convention Centre in seven, the sand and the restaurants a little either side of that.

The Neighbourhood
Eating and drinking. Oracle Boulevard is a short walk and it is the reason to choose Broadbeach: Mamasan Kitchen & Bar, Gemelli Italian, Koi Dining & Lounge, Blowfish Ocean Grill + Bar, Sofia's Mediterranean and Costa Tacos all sit along it. Moo Moo Wine Bar & Grill is a few doors up the Gold Coast Highway for steak. Alkemist Cafe & Bar does breakfast. At The Star, 600 metres away, you have Kiyomi, which holds a chef hat, and Nineteen at The Star. Kurrawa Surf Club on Kurrawa Parade is the unfussy local.
Beach and outdoors. Kurrawa Beach is a short walk east, patrolled and far quieter than the Surfers Paradise stretch. Broadbeach Mall and the parklands sit between you and the water. Nobby Beach and Mermaid Beach are a few minutes south by car, Burleigh Heads about fifteen.
Shopping and events. Pacific Fair, the largest shopping centre in Queensland, is five minutes on foot. The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is seven, which is the whole argument for this apartment during an event week. HOTA on Bundall Road has galleries and outdoor performances, about ten minutes by car.
Getting around. Broadbeach South, the southern terminus of the G:link tram, is a few minutes' walk, and the line runs north through Surfers Paradise, Main Beach and Southport to Helensvale. Gold Coast Airport at Coolangatta is roughly 25 minutes by car, Brisbane Airport about an hour and a quarter.
Practical. Pindara Private Hospital at Benowa has a 24-hour emergency and cardiac centre, about ten minutes away, and Gold Coast University Hospital at Southport has its own tram station. Bond University at Robina and Griffith University Gold Coast are both an easy drive, as are People First Stadium at Carrara and Cbus Super Stadium at Robina.
